Not just a drive by: BYD by 1826 invites you to pause, sip, and relax at this automotive-lifestyle destination in the West.
If you live in the West, you’ll know the drill: IMM trips are usually fast, functional, and fuelled by errands. But BYD by 1826’s newest space is quietly changing that rhythm. Instead of another showroom you pop into and out of, this one nudges you to slow down — whether it’s over brunch with your pals, with a sip of java and your furkid in tow, or with your partner while debating your next ride.

BYD by 1826’s IMM outpost is designed as an automotive-lifestyle space rather than a traditional retail floor. Cars are on display here, but they share the spotlight with food, drinks, greenery, and generous seating that feels more like a cafe than a showroom. Think of it as cars and coffee, minus the rush.
A cafe for everyone, not just car shoppers
Venture into BYD by 1826, and a spacious cafe awaits next to the cars. Located beside an open-air rooftop area, floor-to-ceiling glass walls bathe the space in natural light. The minimalist interior is decked out in gentle shades of wood and white — think Muji, but with cars.

Expect an extensive menu that comprises brunch fare, delectable mains, sippable brews, and even tipples. Highlights include the golden pork mantou ($14) stamped with the BYD logo. The mantous are crisp on the outside, fluffy within, and stuffed with tender pork belly and refreshing shredded cabbage.
For brunch plates, try the standout chilli crab “shiok-shuka” ($18). It’s hearty with a dash of spice, and indulgent enough to satisfy a chilli crab craving without requiring a full seafood feast.

Savour mains like the nyonya beef rendang ($28, slow-cooked till fork-tender, paired with rice that soaks up every bit of sauce; or the sambal stingray rice plate that packs a spicy punch ($16). Then there’s the tea garden soba ($16): a lighter — but no less sumptuous — option if you want something savoury but not heavy.
Save room for coffee and dessert
When it comes to the drinks at BYD by 1826, coffee is the highlight. The tiramisu cream latte ($8) is our top pick if an indulgent sip is what you’re after. It’s smooth, creamy, and served with a ladyfinger biscuit on the side.
Giving caffeine a miss? Try the taro cream latte ($8) for a comforting cup with a gentle earthiness, or the kinako cream latte ($8) for a nutty and grainy sip.
If you have a sweet tooth, peep the desserts menu. The matchamisu ($7) is a crowd-pleaser: rich without being overwhelming, the mellow notes of bittersweet matcha cut through the cream.

Come for the drinks, stay for the cars
If you’re curious about electric cars, or you’re itching to upgrade your current ride, this cafe-led space by BYD is the perfect place to explore. Instead of rushed sales pitches, you get to sip, savour, and consider the different cars on display.
Here, you’ll see multiple vehicles from BYD by 1826, alongside a premium model from the DENZA line, presented right next to the cafe seats. Ask a staff member, and they’ll gladly take you through the functions of each car. You can even request to test drive the vehicle that you fancy.

A space that welcomes families, friends, and pets
One of the biggest draws at BYD by 1826? The atmosphere. The IMM space is pet-friendly, stroller-friendly, and designed for lingering. There’s room for families to settle in, friends to catch up, and solo visitors to park themselves with a laptop or book.
Natural textures, greenery, and a calm colour palette soften the space, making it feel less like a showroom and more like a spot for lounging. It’s the kind of place you might come for lunch — and accidentally stay till dinner.
