The mere mention of local label hansel conjures up superlatives such as fun, quirky, effervescent, and tongue-in-cheek. Now take that, double it, and what you’ll get is hansel’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection presented last night at the Audi Fashion Festival 2014.
Forget about the usual stuffy fashion affairs: last night’s show was an all-out riotous party with models high-fiving, fist-bumping, taking selfies with each other, and bopping to the high-octane music on the runway.
Antics aside, the real star of the show was, no doubt, the collection itself. This was designer Jo Soh in her element: a playful and wearable range of sun dresses, separates, and flowing maxi dresses with a consistent Christmas lights motif that hit the sweet spot between cheekiness and femininity.
Needless to say, we wanted them all and we even started envisioning wearing every last piece from the collection with an insouciance and tongue-in-cheek joie de vivre every hansel girl seems to embody.
