Happy hour promotions, live music and amazing Peranakan food: here’s why you should plan your next night out at Acid Bar.
The Orchard Road area is a popular hang out for shopping, dining and drinking options. But if you want to skip the malls and grab a tipple along a row of heritage shophouses, Emerald Hill is the place to be. Conveniently located in the heart of Somerset, Acid Bar at Emerald Hill is a vibrant watering hole with great food and drinks, alongside cool performances by live bands. Here’s what to look forward to…
1. Awesome happy hour promos
Who can say no to a good deal on booze? Drop by Acid Bar from Sundays to Thursdays for happy hour deals till 8pm. Grab one-for-one draught beers and spirits at just $17 for a laid-back hangout sesh with your friends.
There are reasons to stay on after 8pm, of course. You can enjoy selected bottle spirits at 20% off. Can’t get enough beer? Snag a beer bucket of five for $45 (for Tiger Beer or Heineken). Get ready for a night of non-stop tipples!
2. Groovy tunes
Socialising over drinks is fun, but live music makes it better. Live bands will play from Wednesday to Sundays from 7pm onwards, so plan your visit accordingly. The bar has an exciting lineup including Sara and Bani (part of 53A) on Sundays, so keep an eye out for the schedule on Acid Bar’s socials.
3. Delicious Peranakan food
If you think drinks and music are the only things Acid Bar has to offer, you’re wrong. This lively bar also offers amazing Peranakan eats. Bar bites include heritage crackers, which are a mix of bitternut crackers, prawn crackers and fish crackers served with house sambal belachan; eggplant pakar with caramelised crab belado and egg strands; and pork belly skewers with black pepper watermelon and fish sauce caramel. You can also get the classic kueh pie tee with filling options like lobster, pulled duck or sambal mushroom.
Dropping by with a big crew? Order up the sharing plates. Bibi’s pork ribs are made with 24-hour simmered Hokkaido pork ribs, homemade kecap manis and house sambal (you can get these in half rack or full rack portions). Alternatively, try the ayam panggang, featuring charred turmeric poulet chicken, homemade kecap manis and shaved chilli, or assam fish made with locally farmed barramundi, tamarind ginger flower sauce and fresh herbs.
One thing’s for sure – Acid Bar is a one-stop destination for a fab night with drinks, food and music!
