9. Master Jun Takahashi in Singapore
How does omakase for dinner sound? Master Jun Takahashi was in town for four nights in March to prepare the dining experience personally. It was the first time the celebrated chef presented his renowned skills in Singapore. Two dinner sessions, limited to 10 seats per time slot, were held each night. We say this was the food event to go for in Singapore – the Ginza flagship requires almost a year’s reservation in advance!
10. Bottega Di Carna x Bold & Braised hawker pop-up
A raise of hands if you’ve returned to the workplace post-pandemic (we see you). Naturally, the first question on everyone’s lips after entering the office is, “What’s for lunch?” Well, there was a tantalising pop-up that took place in the first week of March. Modern Italian restaurant Bottega Di Carna teamed up with local hawker Bold & Braised to present an exclusive selection of sandwiches with beef and pork fillings.
11. F*nkytown took over The Elephant Room
There’s no need to catch a flight to Bangkok because the Thai cocktail bar’s coming to our sunny shores. For one night only, F*nkytown’s group beverage manager Pae Ketumarn, renowned for his innovative approach to cocktails, will be showcasing his prowess at The Elephant Room. Pae will be joined by Luqman Hakim, Sarnies Group’s group head chef, who will take over the kitchen. Imbibers can look forward to signature drinks such as the Oyster, Tom Yum, and Pain Au Matcha, and pair them with dishes like the F*nky smash burgers, naem (pork sausage) stuffed chicken wings, and crispy pig’s ears.
