Unlike many hotels in Macau – gaudy and gold-lacquered – Macau Roosevelt Hotel exudes a modern vibe. This five-star hotel in Macau is unassuming on the outside, but glamorous as heck from the inside. Expect great service and a lovely time utilising their leisure facilities, such as the hotel gym and the swimming pool that are sprawled across the entire third floor.

Hang out on the hotel balcony for a spectacular view
You can lie down catch up on TV or you can go out on the balcony and take in the gorgeous view
The room is elegantly furnished and spacious, while the ultra-plump bed with amazingly soft bed linen allows you to lay your head down at night and fall asleep quickly without a care in the world. All the necessities, from a fully stocked mini bar with complimentary soft drinks and mineral water (wine for an extra fee) to a hair dryer and beyond, are of course, provided.
The highlight of the room is the view of the Jockey Club, calming in the morning, and impressive – even more so – in the evening! With the in-house music speaker, I put on some dreamy and captivating tunes, had a few glasses of good-old Tokaji wine with my friends, and spent a night lingering on the balcony. It was undoubtedly one of most relaxing and memorable nights we have had.
On a side note, we also adored the Japanese-style heated toilet seat. It’s just a minor detail, but it kept putting a goofy smile on our faces throughout the day; little things.
Try out the leisure facilities on the exclusive club floor
The third floor of Macau Roosevelt Hotel serves as an urban retreat for hotel guests. The vast outdoor swimming pool, with a great view of the peaceful environment, is one of the signature leisure facilities. With the pool measuring just 1.2 metres, while it’s not great for dive bombs, it’s perfect for families and floating.
Even if you can’t swim, just sit by the pool and have a few crafty drinks from the bar and lounge. It’s nice to have some fresh air and serenity away from the hustle and bustle.
Right next to the swimming pool, there’s the roomy hotel gym for you to stretch your body and sweat it out. Guests of Macau Roosevelt Hotel are free to use all the machines and do some weightlifting. And just like the hotel room, there is a pleasant view even for runners to check out while competing on the treadmills.
Will I revisit Macau Roosevelt Hotel?
Absolutely yes. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the flashy exterior and casino signs of the majority of hotels in Macau, however, Macau Roosevelt Hotel has proved themselves to be one of the edgier existences in The 853. This five-star hotel’s soothing ambience will definitely offer an invigorating and delightful staycation experience for all their guests.
