Here's a list of just some of the things that we think are hot (and not hot at all) in Hong Kong right now
From the wonderful beaches in Hong Kong to happy hours and fine dining restaurants, there’s always so much to do in The 852. But if you’re wondering what’s hot and what’s not right now, then check out this guide: Legit or Quit.
Legit or Quit: What’s hot and what’s most definitely not in HK right now
Enhale Meditation Studio
This new little meditation studio in Central is what we’ve all been waiting for. We went to the launch event and tried a blissful tea meditation courtesy of Resham Daswani from Spiral Spaces. The group enjoyed a blissful tea ceremony in silence as we escaped from the city (and work) for a little me-time. We’re loving that when you sign up as a member you get money to spend towards your first class. We’ll definitely be back to try the reiki sessions, sound baths and lunchtime classes at Enhale Meditation Studio.
Made in Mexico
This TV show on Netflix is everything. It’s like Real Housewives, but with more awesomeness and Latin flair, if you haven’t seen it yet, just do it. Think: tequila, rodeos, charity work, pop stars, rehab and models, all set to the stunning backdrop of Mexico City. If you’re a fan of trashy TV shows, then get to it. Olé!
White Truffle menu at Nicholini’s
Yum! The guys at Nicholini’s had us over to try the newly-launched white truffle menu recently and happily served us all vegetarian options, which the chef told mentioned were actually the best choices, so W.I.N.N.I.N.G. The whole thing rocked (can you really go wrong with white truffles?) but a highlight was tasting the eponymous Little Nicholini’s–heavenly pasta parcels filled with cream and glorious truffles. The dessert was ridiculously good too: cherries, truffles and white chocolate. Who’d have thought???!! Catch it before the season is over around late November.
Why is everyone talking about winter already? October is one of the best months of the year in Hong Kong, and with weather sitting around 28 degrees, it’s not exactly cold. Let’s just enjoy these wonderful temperatures before we start trying to flog puffer jackets, shall we?
Veggi Monster has shut down
Why must they keep taking the great veggie spots away from us! First Life Cafe, then Home Eat to Live and now Veggi Monster? Thankfully, we still have gems like Confusion Plant Based Kitchen and Pop Vegan to fill the void, but still… sad faces all around.
Vans x Minnie Mouse
Vans have done an amazing 90th Anniversary capsule collection to celebrate Minnie & Mickey, but we’re so tired of brands only making the female size run up to a size 9. WHYYYYYY?! With the average female shoe size being around 8.5-9, surely Vans (and all other shoe companies) could bring the run up to at least an 11. Can I get a yes y’all?
And obvs, when it comes to Legit or Quit, we can’t deny you this gem:
