In Search of Miss Ruthless
If you’re looking for a unique art experience, check out the exhibition In Search of Miss Ruthless. Inspired by Miss Hong Kong and Miss Chinese International pageants, 23 artists have created a variety of artworks based on the idea of a ‘future queer pageant queen’. The concept has also come from a line in the famous song, Hong Kong Our Home, so there’s a wide variety of influences behind these creations. This is definitely a must-see for anyone interested in Hong Kong’s modern art practice.

Ocean Park Summer Splash 2017 Presents Nostalgic Summer Fun
To tie in with Ocean Park’s on-going 40thanniversary celebrations, the widely-anticipated Ocean Park Summer Splash returns with a retro theme and exciting line-up of summer happenings. In collaboration with world-renowned sculptor Ray Villafane and homegrown label LT Duck, the annual summer bash urges guests to recall fond childhood memories of summertime water fun, sandy beaches and yellow rubber ducks. This year, Applause Pavilion will be transformed into a summer sandy beach adorned with giant sand sculptures – so join in the interactive sand workshops and ride on the new water attractions this summer.

Aberdeen Street Social Transforms into Wimbledon HQ
English expats, tennis enthusiasts and all who appreciate the culture of the British summer can now embrace the Wimbledon spirit. Join in on July 3 and July 16 for happy hour drinks in collaboration with Craft brewery. Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow
One of the funniest events to come to Hong Kong, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow, is coming back to the city. Featuring some of Australia’s funniest comedy stars from the country’s biggest comedy festival, there will be seven nights of laughs from stand-up and sketches, so make sure you get your tickets as certain nights are sure to sell out.

HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair 2017
If you love to read you need to check out this Book Fair at the Hong Kong Convention Centre. There will be over 670 stalls with books from over 35 countries in lots of different languages so you’ll be sure to find something to suit your reading tastes. If you get tired searching for the perfect book, there will also be a bunch of different cultural events like Lifestyle seminars with Hong Kong artists Steve Lee and Gigi Wong showing off their cooking tips, tips on health from Yim Ho and a photography seminar by Hong Kong photography group Wandering Photography. This is a week long event so you can pop in and visit whenever you have the time.

Gazillion Bubble Show
If you love a bit of a spectacular, you need to check out the Gazillion Bubble Show that will be at Hong Kong City Hall. It’s a light, laser, ‘bubble’ performance that’s been running for 10 years off-Broadway in New York. You can even join in with the show’s audience interactive parts.

19th Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong
As one of the most popular summer carnivals for the younger generation, the 19th Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong is packed with a great selection of animation, comics, games, toys, limited edition collectibles and a variety of performances. Creative Paradise, one of the most influential platforms for the genre and the Kids’ Toy Fair will also be held during the same period. On top of that, there will be a bunch of cool Cosplay competitions as well as performances of famous Japanese anime songs.
