This August, swap the high season parties for a blissful meditation retreat in Ubud, led by Sydney’s Vedic Meditation teacher, Jo Amor
Real talk: modern life is busy. We’re constantly caught up with our work, family, friends, diets, exercise, social media and overloaded inboxes – and that’s before we even try to squeeze in a much-needed (and well-deserved) holiday. These days, we have more to do and less time to do it in. In fact, we experience the same amount of stimulation in one day that someone 250 years ago experienced in their entire lifetime. No wonder we’re so exhausted!
Well, unfortunately there’s no quick fix to magic all of our daily duties away, but there is a tool that can help alleviate associated stress, help to promote productivity and make us feel better than ever. That tool is Vedic Meditation, and this August, Sydney-based Vedic Meditation teacher Jo Amor is coming to Bali to teach the art (and virtues) of this ancient practice, at no other than the luxurious Oneworld Retreats.
Discover Vedic Meditation
For one-week only from the 19th to 25th August 2018, Jo Amor will be conducting a “Discover Vedic Meditation” retreat in the spiritually charged centre of Ubud. The retreat will take place at the gorgeous Oneworld Retreats – a luxurious resort hugged by greenery and chock full of blissful, healing experiences.
Not only the perfect opportunity for a serene holiday (there’s spa treatments, healing sessions and plenty of wholesome munch included) the retreat will teach you how to integrate meditation into your busy lives, so that you can experience the ongoing benefits of the retreat long after the holiday highs have worn off. It’s the gift that keeps on giving!
The big draw? You’ll notice the benefits immediately. You see, Vedic Meditation is different to most other meditation techniques. It’s not only about concentration or visualisation, and it’s not mindfulness either. Instead, Vedic Meditation is the practice of effortlessly thinking a mantra (a charming sound) which acts as a vehicle to transcend your mind beyond thinking altogether. By de-exciting the mind, you’ll naturally settle into profound silence, allowing your body to fall into deep rest and let go of its stresses. You’ll feel pretty damn good afterwards!
Just 20 minutes of Vedic Meditation has been scientifically proven to give our bodies the same amount of rest as 3-4 hours of sleep. That’s why it’s become such a powerful tool for people to add into their daily routines. Imagine how much better you’ll feel with that much extra sleep under your belt? And the best bit is, it’s enjoyable to practice and easy to learn, so it’ll soon become one of the most pleasurable things you’ll do in your day.
Meet & meditate with Jo Amor
The retreat will be led by Sydney’s very own Vedic Meditation teacher, Jo Amor, who teaches busy mums, dads, professionals, creatives, athletes, retirees and even kids – just about anyone who’s looking for more calm, clarity, energy and wellness in their lives. After turning her own life around through Vedic Meditation, Jo became passionate about helping others and went on to train as a teacher in Sydney, later graduating in India in 2015.
Now, Jo is teaming up with Oneworld Retreats to bring all of her passion and expertise to Bali, to share with you her very simple yet powerful Vedic Mediation techniques. By learning these simple yet effective tools, by the end of the retreat you’ll be able to meditate confidently on your own, arming yourself with both practical and powerful meditation skills that you can use (and enjoy) on the regular!
More than meditation
Still need more convincing? The one-week retreat isn’t only about meditation – it’s also designed to be a nourishing and rejuvenating journey of yoga, sound bath, spa treatments, rituals and discoveries. The retreat includes all of your daily meals (which are carefully crafted by Oneworld Retreats’ wholefoods chefs) as well as relaxing massages at Kumara Spa, sound healing at Pyramids of Chi, daily yoga, eco-friendly gifts, cultural Balinese experiences and so.much.more.
As for the resort, Oneworld Retreats is an experience in itself, with 14 deluxe rooms, two jungle-hugged swimming pools, open-air yoga pavilions, lush gardens, rice field vistas, and of course, the ever-present charm of Balinese culture thanks to its rural, Ubud address… Sign us up!
