A sunset picnic, Long Table Lunch and jamu-inspired cocktails on the sun-soaked terrace - there are so many reasons to visit this culture-steeped Seminyak boutique.
It’s no secret that we love John Hardy Bali. You’ll regularly find us at the Bali-based boutiques in both Ubud and Seminyak, browsing the never-ending collection of handcrafted, artisan creations that have made John Hardy jewellery world-famous. And yet, it’s more than just the jewels that keep us coming back to these iconic destinations…
Designed to deliver an immersive taste of Balinese culture, John Hardy Bali also presents a number of culinary experiences that are worth a trip alone. In particular, at the John Hardy Boutique and Gallery in Seminyak, you can spend an entire day tasting the flavours of Bali’s bountiful landscapes and traditions. You can graze your way through the legendary Long Table Lunch, nibble on sharing plates and Kudapan snacks, cool off with traditional elixirs from the The Jamu Bar, then stick around until dusk for the Sunset Picnic on the terraced lawn, served beneath the gaze of a majestic Balinese temple…
You’ll love it because… the dining experiences at the John Hardy Boutique and Gallery in Seminyak go far beyond a simple dining experience. Here, you can fully immerse in local Balinese culture and traditions, tasting your way through the flavours, spices and recipes of the region. Each delectable dish is crafted with both love and the spirit of artistic inspiration – the same dedication and skill you’ll find in each piece of John Hardy jewellery…
You’ll want to try… the Sunset Picnic. It’s a spectacular and immersive dining experience laid out on the terraced lawn under terracotta umbrellas, and as the sun dips behind the temple gates, you can lay-back on traditional straw mats and comfy pillows, and linger over special Jamu-inspired cocktails. As for the feast, you’ll try authentic recipes like nasi lawar, banana leaf-wrapped jackfruit, chicken satay grilled on an open flame, and nasi goreng tungku, made with heritage rice from Tabanan with smoked mushroom, leek, house-made sambal roa, fresh seafood, and cured egg. It’s a stunning experience to share with friends, and the very best way to honour the artisan skills and local culture of Bali.
Come back for the… all-day dining at The Kitchen. While the Long Table Lunch, Sunset Picnic and Kudapan menus require prior reservation, a beautiful menu of shared plates and crafted cocktails are available all day, even if you just want to just drop in for an artisan coffee in between shopping trips. Each dish is based on the rich culinary heritage of Indonesia, beautifully presented and surprisingly affordable. And the best bit is, the menus are regularly updated according to the seasons, using fresh and locally-sourced ingredients from nearby farms. That means, with every visit, you know you’ll be getting a refreshed experience, featuring the very best family-style Balinese favourites and authentic dishes from across Indonesia.
