A Review of the Westin Nusa Dua Kids' Spa
All Mums know that kids and day spas don’t go together. In fact we usually go to one to get away from the other, if you know what we mean.
Always happy to be proven wrong, Honeycombers Bali – kids in tow, takes a day trip to The Westin Resort, Nusa Dua, to experience a wellness morning at the brand new Kids’ Spa.
First up, some yogic stretching on the lawn. These are called Banguah Putih, which means white crane and has its basis in Asian martial arts. It follows that kids should be good at Yoga; they are naturally inclined towards being in the moment, but moving through postures – unless there is accompanying comic relief, seems a challenge. The youngest Honeycombers Bali ‘journalist’, five year old Ella, decides against the asanas and creates an individual pursuit, ‘chasing squirrel up tree’. Genius really.
Next, a totally indulgent massage in an open-air bale by the sea. No resistance for this one.
The best thing about the treatments at the new spa is that they’re all designed with kids in mind, so while we are happy to indulge in a longer treatment, their session lasts only thirty minutes, which is perfect for little ones with shorter attention spans.
Other treatments on offer include Twinkle Toes & Fancy Fingers, mini facial, Prince or Princess, which includes a massage and choice of temporary tattoo or nail art and hairbraiding. If you’re looking to celebrate a birthday then the Kids Spa can arrange a Spa-rty! They’ll do everything for you, all you have to do is show up.
After our treatments, we head to the restaurant for a super delicious buffet breakfast. Although the staff encourage the superfoods, the kids go for the freshly made crepes and waffles. You’re only a kid once!
Homeward bound, we all agree the Kids’ Spa is an absolute winner. And that’s where we’ll be going for the kids’ next birthday. And the next one. And the next one.
