From Seminyak to Uluwatu, these are my favourite beachfront restaurants in Bali that serve more than just great views.
Here’s the thing about beachfront restaurants in Bali: some coast by on the view alone — all vibes, no flavour. And they get away with it because, well, the sunsets look great on Instagram. But then there are the gems that treat the view as just a bonus. They’re serving genuinely good food, classic cocktails done right, and they pull it all off with island energy that makes you want to stay for another round.
So, to bring you exactly that, this list cuts through the noise — no tourist traps, no overpriced beach clubs with average menus. Just the real-deal restaurants on the beach that I actually go back to, broken down by each Bali neighbourhood so you know exactly where to book, and why.
Bali’s Best Beach Restaurants: My Top Picks
1. Times Beach Warung – Canggu

I’ve lost count of how many mornings I’ve had my toes in the sand at Times Beach Warung. The reason being, there actually aren’t that many restaurants in Bali that actually sit directly on the sand. But Times Beach Warung is one of them. It’s located on Batu Bolong Beach, right next to The Lawn (and not surprisingly — it’s the same owners).
It really is a must-visit for a morning brunch or coffee on the beach. Come sundown, it shifts into a super popular pre-dinner spot, where it seems the entire Canggu neighbourhood flocks to for sunset drinks and catch-ups. I like to roll in late arvo, order the fish tacos and a ginger margarita, and settle in for that golden glow. Expect good tunes, great people-watching, and consistently solid food right by the waves.
Must-try: Eggs benedict, fish tacos, ginger margarita
Good to know: It’s almost always full, so arrive early if you want to secure a seat
Where: Batu Bolong Beach, Jl Pura Dalem, Canggu
WhatsApp: +62 811 3800 4953
Opening hours: Daily, 6am – 10pm

2. Hippie Fish – Pererenan

If you’re craving fresh seafood with a sea breeze and a glass of something crisp and cold, Hippie Fish is where I send anyone visiting Bali. This sunset favourite sits right beside Pererenan Beach, but it feels more like a Mediterranean beach lounge than a Bali restaurant. Think polished white interiors, linen shirts, and grilled prawns straight from the coals.
I always try to time it for golden hour — the rooftop’s the sweet spot, with chilled wines straight from Italy. The Black Ink Pappardelle is a standout — rich, salty, and properly al dente — but the real highlight is their seafood from the market. The grilled lobster with Hippie Fish aioli is next-level. They also don’t skimp on portions, which I appreciate when I’m sharing plates with my mates over a long (and boozy) sunset dinner.
Must-try: Black Ink Pappardelle, charred prawns with chilli oil, grilled lobster with Hippie Fish aioli
Good to know: Rooftop tables are first come, first served — get there early for sunset
Where: Jl Pantai Pererenan No. 171, Pererenan, Canggu
Opening hours: Daily, 7am – 11pm

3. La Lucciola – Seminyak
It’s rare to find somewhere as iconic as La Lucciola that still feels so authentic. It’s one of the few beachfront restaurants in Bali that doesn’t need to shout to be heard – there’s no Wi-Fi, no social media or any loud marketing. Just open-air dining and old-school service in a breezy pavilion, right by the beach. Even the walk to the restaurant is a treat, past Petitenget Temple and over a cute little bridge. I’ve been coming here for years — and it hasn’t changed, which is exactly why I keep returning.
The Italian-style menu is straightforward but beautifully done. There’s grilled fish, some of the best pasta I’ve ever tried, and crisp salads for on the side. Even the olive oil and focaccia while you wait is pure perfection. Add one of the better wine lists on the island, and you quickly understand why this is one of the very best restaurants in Seminyak (and all of Bali).
Must-try: Grilled market fish, handmade pasta, a chilled bottle of white
Good to know: Most tables are reserved for walk-in guests, so you’ll need to arrive early (before 6pm) if you can’t get a booking.
Where: Pantai Petitenget (next to Petitenget Temple), Seminyak

Opening hours: Daily from 9am.
4. The Beach by Ours – Bingin

Sitting absolute beachfront on the quieter end of Bingin Beach is The Beach by Ours. It’s the latest beachfront cafe and restaurant to open in Bali, and the good news is: it’s brought to us by the powerhouses behind Ours cafe. I popped down on a weekend and there was already a queue out the door, but it wasn’t long until I was sinking into a stylish lounger, just in time for brunch overlooking the ocean.
It’s already become a top spot for sunset too, with classic cocktails to help sweeten your sundowner sesh. As for the menu? Michelin-starred Chef Wes whips up shared plates and hearty mains with Mediterranean flavour. Think jammy eggs and burnt pancakes for breakfast, then for lunch, it’s all about wood-fired meats, chilled seafood and plenty of pasta and salad. Settle in for the day, because you definitely won’t want to leave.
Must-try: Chilled oysters, shrimp cocktail, the beach burger.
Good to know: This place gets really busy on the weekends, so you definitely need to pre-book if you don’t want to wait.
Where: Bingin Beach, Uluwatu
Opening hours: Daily from 8am.

5. SugarSand – Seminyak

Some beachfront spots are all about the view — but SugarSand actually delivers on the food too. This al-fresco restaurant sits right beside Seminyak Beach, with panoramic ocean views, a Japanese-inspired menu, and incredible cocktails. It’s part of Hotel Indigo, but you don’t need to be a guest to stroll in, grab a table, or take a dip in the beachfront infinity pool.
Needless to say, I’ve spent full afternoons here grazing on sushi and sipping Gin & Tonics between swims. The menu leans Japanese Izakaya, but with a modern, international twist. I always start with the sashimi — buttery fresh and sliced to order — then work my way through the yakitori skewers and robata grill specials. The ramen’s worth a look too if you’re craving something comforting.
Come sunset, head straight to the rooftop. The views are next-level, and the Japanese-inspired cocktails (think yuzu, sake, and shiso) make golden hour here one of the best in Seminyak.
Must-try: Tuna sashimi, yakitori skewers, Kyoto Sour cocktail
Good to know: Pool access is included with any food or drink purchase (shower facilities too!)
Where: Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach, Jl Camplung Tanduk No.10, Seminyak
Opening hours: Daily from 11am – 11pm

6. The Lawn

With its front-row seats to Canggu’s world-famous wave and black sands, the grass is always greener at The Lawn. This iconic beach club is where I’ve spent my days lounging beneath a boho umbrella by the shimmering infinity pool, and grazing on their gourmet nibbles. I could munch my way through their nachos and fresh seafood, and with a stylish list of infused cocktails, I always stay back for when golden hour comes around.

Good to know: The Lawn hosts some of the best beach parties in town, so you’ll want to keep an eye on their event calendar
Where: Jl Pura Dalem, Canggu

7. Skool Kitchen

Sitting right above The Lawn and overlooking the waves, Skool Kitchen is one of the hottest beachfront restaurants in Bali where every dish is touched by fire. A primal style of cooking meets contemporary culinary excellence here, with its honest modern menu powered by natural wood and charcoal embers.
I’ve dined here a few times, and while the balcony is perfect for watching a fiery Bali sunset overlooking the ocean, you can’t miss dining at the chef’s counter. It gives you the front row view of the open kitchen, where all the actions take place. Swap and share a few small plates and mains, and make sure you have enough space for burnt desserts and cocktails too!
Must-try: Hay-Smoked Kingfish Tartare, Wood-Fired Gnocchi, Burnt Lemon Daiquiri
Good to know: Grab a seat at the balcony where you’ll have the best seat for sunset-watching
Where: Upstairs at The Lawn, Jl Pura Dalem, Canggu
Opening hours: Daily, from 5pm
8. La Brisa

From the same family as La Favela and La Plancha (FYI – two of our favourite bars in Seminyak), La Brisa is the quirky-yet-cool destination from the “La” family, and the coolest boho-beanbag beach club on Echo Beach in Canggu. In fact, I love sitting here with my toes in sand and a long drink in hand. La Brisa is also a bohemian hub of rustic Spanish cooking, multiple swimming pools and a hot soundtrack to top it all off, so there’s always something to do here.
Must-try: Ceviche Nikkei, Char-Grilled Octopus, Seasonal Mango Salad
Good to know: There’s a market every Sunday, where I frequently come by for organic produce and natural beauty products
Where: Jl Pantai Batu Mejan Gg. La Brisa, Echo Beach, Canggu
Opening hours: Daily, 10am – 11pm

9. Seasalt

True to its name (and its beachfront address), Seasalt is Seminyak’s ocean-and-salt-inspired restaurant that I’ve fallen head over flip flops for. It’s located right on the coastline at Alila Seminyak, with endless ocean views and an ever-present sea breeze. This fabulously fresh seaside restaurant is one of my must-tries, because of its beachy and chic vibes and sublime Japanese-infused dishes. It goes without saying that sundowners here are unparalleled, with exceptional designer cocktails that follow a strict zero-waste concept.

Good to know: The Sunday brunch is one of the best in Bali, featuring fresh seafood with a Japanese twist
Where: Alila Seminyak, Jl Taman Ganesha No. 9, Petitenget
Opening hours: Daily, 7am – 10pm
10. Ijen

Set inside Bali’s most progressive beach club, Ijen at Potato Head is Indonesia’s first ever restaurant that follows a zero-waste philosophy. Their ocean-fresh seafood is simply sublime, caught locally using a hand-reeling process and classically grilled over an open fire.
The menus here are all printed on sustainably harvested paper, the furniture is made from foam offcuts, and the floor is poured from a mix of broken plates, glass and cement. It combines everything I’m passionate about: exceptional dishes, Indonesian flavours, and a remarkable, eco-friendly space.
Must-try: Bonito, Whole Roasted Market Fish, S’mores
Good to know: Ijen caters to families, so if you’re taking the kids, ask the staff for recommended dishes for the little ones
Where: Desa Potato Head, Jl Petitenget No. 51B, Seminyak
Opening hours: Daily, 12pm – 10pm
11. Mano Beach House

One of Bali’s best kept secrets, Mano Beach House is a hidden gem that’s perfectly poised beside Petitenget Temple. This family-friendly beachfront destination is just a few footsteps from central Seminyak, yet it feels like a world away.
I come here to slosh in the pool, kick back on a boho bean bag and take in the sunset views over slow food and signature cocktails. Of course, I hang around until dinnertime for Mano’s rustic evening feast. The menu showcases ancient cooking techniques, high-quality meat and locally sourced seafood, which are transformed into carefully curated dishes full of Mediterranean and Asian flavours.
Must-try: Pork Betel Leaf, Za’atar Tuna Tataki, Beef Brisket Ravioli
Good to know: The menu is based around the seasons, it regularly changes to make the most of the local harvest
Where: Jl Pantai Pura Petitenget, Seminyak
Opening hours: Daily, 11am – 11pm
The Best Restaurants On The Beach In KUTA

With uninterrupted ocean views and a soft sea breeze, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be in Legian than at Azul Beach Club. You can’t miss this treehouse-inspired beach club, because of its soaring bamboo structure and splashes of turquoise that bring the colours of the ocean inside. I love the fact it has its own adults-only infinity pool overlooking the sparkling horizon.
The kitchen dishes up an international menu with coastal cuisine of smokey meats, bountiful veggies, plenty of seafood and Asian fusion favourites. While you’re here, you’ll want to stick around for the Tipsy Tea, which is a boozy take on the classic afternoon tea. It even comes with a smorgasbord of sweet and savoury bites! The menu is inspired by the flavours of the Mediterranean, with wholesome salads, wood-fired pizzas, artisanal pasta, and the catch-of-the-day sourced directly from Jimbaran’s local fishermen.
I can’t get enough of the grilled specialities, but the star of the show is the exclusive Curated Butcher’s Selection.
