It’s sometimes too easy to think that creativity has been lost in our concrete jungle, but the return of Saturday Indesign, now rebranded as Singapore Indesign, will make you see otherwise.
The one-day design festival aims to let us view the world with new eyes, with a showcase of some of the most visually impressive ideas in both architecture and interior design. On 4 October 2014, design showrooms across four precincts – Dhoby Ghaut, Bras Basah, River Valley and Tanjong Pagar – will open their doors to lovers and creators of design, and visitors can expect a slew of product and brand launches, talks, workshops, installations, live demonstrations and some face time with international names like Magis’ second-generation scion Alberto Perazza. Struggling to decide which showroom to visit? Fret not: there’ll be a free shuttle bus service to transport you to the various venues.

New to this year’s edition is Launch Pad Asia, a design competition and mentorship programme for industrial designers. Be one of the first to see the finalists’ entries, which will be exhibited at the Singapore Indesign Curated Space at Red Dot Design Museum.
Get your day pass by registering for free at the website (online registration closes 29 September – hurry!). All you have to do is print it out and bring it along with you. Alternatively, you can register at any participating showroom, marked by the fluoro watermelon colour decals and flags, on the event day. Plus, Singapore Indesign visitors who are new to Uber get their first taxi ride free (capped at $20).
