Things are about to get busier now that we’re officially in the final quarter of the year: Halloween! Thanksgiving! Christmas! New Year! Shop for gifts! Be merry! So we’re rather pleased to hear that the good folks at The Expat Fairs are rolling out their amazing Autumn bazaar on 14 and 15 October 2014, prompting us to start prepping the upcoming festivities early. It’s a big shebang, but fret not, busy bees – this guide should help you navigate the fair like a seasoned shopper.
Amabilis, Lustre, Peachtree Jewellery
For Artisanal Bling
Who can resist gorgeous baubles? Not us, for sure. We scanned the extensive vendor’s list for the fair, and our eyes quickly zoomed into Amabilis’ bohemian-styled pieces, as well as Lustre’s bold, oriental-inspired accessories. For more gypsy-like gorgeousness, be sure to grab a necklace or two from Bohemian Butterfly. Need to jazz up your festive outfit? Brazilian jeweller Jubilo Joias’ classy-chic candies should do the trick.
Singapore Trading Post, Veya Designs
For Chrismas Decorations
Get your hands on the lovely vintage ornaments at Singapore Trading Post for your tree (and more) – they say old is gold! At Veya Designs, you’ll find an array of pretty cards and gift bags to make Christmas wrapping a breeze.
For Contemporary Home Furnishings
Updating the little things in your home can make a big difference to the look of your interiors. Try throwing on playful bed sheets and cushions from Maissone Homeware, or go classic and luxe with Josephine Home’s bedding collections. If you’re looking for a tablecloth, sofa cover or a bed throw that channels a carefree Tunisian vibe, Bo-Ya Creation is your answer.
Little Friends by Lammaso, Tilly Stone Boutique, Peachtree Jewellery, Mahina Mermaid MerFin
For the Kids
Got little ones to spoil? Make time to visit Little Friends by Lammaso for affordable, beautiful clothing, and Tilly Stone Boutique for oh-so-adorable baby wear. If you’ve got tots who love putting everything in their mouths, go for Peachtree Jewellery’s child-friendly jewellery options that are non-toxic and chemical-free. What’s more, make someone’s (or yours) mermaid’s dream come true with the Mahina Mermaid MerFin, available at Swish Swimming. Talk about a unique gift!
For the Hungry and the Thirsty
Shopping is hard work – so it’s probably a good idea fuel up before poring over the Pinterest-worthy goodies. Seafood grocery store and restaurant The Alaska Guys are bringing their monstrous (in a good way!) Alaska’s Kings crab, and there’s Leela’s Fine Chocolate for the sweet tooth. Those with adventurous tastebuds should check out the intriguing Black Cow’s Pure Milk Vodka and cheese at the fair, while those into sake and craft beer can look forward to a selection from Japanese Drinks Company. Of course, it wouldn’t be an autumn fair without a variety of wines from all over the world!
For Crafty Hands
International floral designer Karen French will be on site with live floral arrangements demo – excellent news for those of you looking for ideas and inspirations to add some flower power to your home, or as gifts. Mark these timings so you don’t miss out: 11am to noon & 3 to 4pm on both 14 and 15 October.
