Singapore’s biggest egg hunt
Kicking off tomorrow (from 18 April to 5 May) is Singapore’s biggest – and probably most unique, Easter egg hunt – think 100 giant eggs scattered around the Sentosa-Harbourfront precinct. Over 200 people, including local artists and students, got together to paint these eggs in an awe-inspiring mélange of colours and textures, and we got a glimpse behind the scenes!
In an effort to involve the local community, a group of local artists, Sentosa Harbourfront Business Association (SHBA) staff, and youths from National Youth Achievement Award Council of Singapore (NYAA), Noise Singapore, LASALLE College of the Arts, and local polytechnics – were invited to showcase their creative flair and design the 100 Easter eggs, each measuring 1.5 metres by 1 metre.
Local illustrator WHENIWASFOUR’s egg features iconic Sentosa landmarks in oriental blue and white rendering, while graffiti artist Syco0’s innovative take on Sentosa’s skyline is coloured solely with Sharpie markers. Look out for local fashion designer Rêvasseur’s adorable nautical-themed egg design too.
So, gather your family and friends and head down to join in this great Easter Egg-Venture. There are attractive prizes up for grabs for sharp-eyed folks who spot them all!
Besides taking part in the egg hunt, you can also check out the grand Easter fiesta at Sentosa’s Emerald Pavilion. There’ll be a host of fun family-friendly activities – from sand colouring eggs, ukulele performances, to an intriguing demonstration on how to walk on eggshells.
