Only these worthy eateries have made the cut (pun intended) with their stellar French fries doused with copious amounts of truffle oil
It doesn’t matter whether it’s breakfast, brunch or dinner at a restaurant or a cafe – truffle fries (on their own or alongside a juicy burger – duh!) are a must-order for us if they’re found on the menu. When they are truly great, we don’t really care if it’s socially acceptable to order them as both an appetiser and a main course. Here’s where you’ll find us when we’re ready to munch on our favourite side of all time.
Their truffle fries ($12) look deceivingly simple, but they’re really not. Topped with kelp and parmesan, the fries are heavily (and evenly) coated with truffle oil.
SPRMRKT, 2 McCallum Street, Singapore 069043, p. 6221 2105.
The lovely, greasy chips here need no introduction. Shoestring cut with grated parmesan, and parsley, this side order ($15) makes the perfection addition to your meal (especially so if you’re here for brunch).
PS.Cafe, 28B Harding Road, Singapore 249549, p. 9070 8782.
Go for the truffle option of ‘potato fries’ ($14) here at Symmetry and you’ll get a bucket full of treats. It really is a huge portion so, as much as you hate to, you’re going to have to share.
Symmetry, 9 Jalan Kubor, Singapore 199206, p. 6291 9901.
What’s better than regular ol’ truffle fries? Truffle fries that come with a super awesome truffle dip. Find them here at Picotin Express ($12).
Picotin Express, #01-06 Quayside Isle, 31 Ocean Way, Sentosa, Singapore 098375, p. 6438 4747.
It’s easy to get carried away with OverEasy’s highly addictive shoestring truffle fries ($14). Tip: If you’re having one of their burgers (you really should!), switch out the side of regular fries for truffle-infused ones.
OverEasy, #01-06, 1 Fullerton Road, Singapore 049213, p. 9129 8484.
Monochrome Fusion Bistro
The aroma of truffle oil is delightfully strong for this contender ($11) – which is bonus points in our opinion. They come with dipping sauces but there’s really no need for that because these babies are good on their own.
Monochrome Fusion Bistro, 291 South Bridge Road, Singapore 058836, p. 6221 1798.
Supply & Demand
Supply & Demand offers garlic truffle fries ($15) – the chunky cut fries are liberally doused with truffle oil and topped with shaved parmesan and bits of roasted garlic. Mmm.
Supply & Demand, #01-13 Esplanade Mall, 8 Raffles Avenue, Singapore 039802, p. 6336 0588.
Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, the thick golden truffle fries here are drowned in a buttery bernaise sauce ($10).
Spruce, #01-01 Old Fire Station, 260 Upper Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 588213, p. 6466 5582.
Tanjong Beach Club
Laze around the day beds at Tanjong Beach Club and chomp on their truffle goodness ($15) – comes with precious little shavings of black truffle (!!) and parmesan.
Tanjong Beach Club, 120 Tanjong Beach Walk, Sentosa, Singapore 098942, p. 9750 5323.
