Holiday Drama Workshops for Kids
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the circus is about to begin! No, it’s not the greatest show on earth (a la the Ringling Bros) – this is even better.
Step right up to the wonderful workshops that the folks at ACT 3 Drama Academy will be presenting this holiday. The best part? You parents actually get to catch the greatest show on earth – starring your very own kids.
First up, Dan the Hat is in the house to impart wondrous skills that are essential for your littlies’ survival in any circus. Hailing all the way from the UK, this juggler extraordinaire will teach your kids (aged 7-12) how to juggle balls and scarves, spin plates, balance peacock feathers, and even perform hat tricks (with a real hat, not the soccer variety). With a focus on physical skills, comedy, and movement, watch your children transform into world-class entertainers in a performance with Dan The Hat himself after this workshop.
If the moppets (especially those aged 3-7) have been mobbing you with a multitude of questions like “how did the leopard get its spots?” or “how did the elephant get his trunk?” – you’re saved (once again) by the drama experts at ACT 3 Drama Academy. Borrowing the wonder of Rudyard Kipling’s literature, the kids will learn essential drama skills like mime, improvisation, storytelling, speech and presentation in this fun-filled, energetic workshop.
Our little dramatists, aged 8-11 years old, have all the luck. This time, they’re going through the wonder wardrobe into the elusive Narnia. As fans of C.S Lewis, we’re sure that this workshop based on “the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” will leave the kids spellbound. The activities of this workshop explore movement, role-play, and voice techniques – they also get to step into the shoes of their favourite characters.
Help your tweens and teens aged 12-16 years old hone their acting chops – sign them up for this workshop, which will challenge them with the rigours of stage acting. They will learn the ropes through the use of improvisation, role-play and vocal dynamics to render portrayal of their characters more realistic and believable. Witness your young performers execute their performance with an unprecedented finesse!
