Catalan singer-songwriter Sílvia Pérez Cruz will enchant you with her poetic lyrics and passionate performance of songs from her album Dressed by the Night (Vestida de Nit)
Bringing us a curated selection of internationally renowned theatrical performances such as HOME and King Arthur’s Night, the 47th Hong Kong Arts Festival is excited to announce the Hong Kong debut of Catalan singer-songwriter Sílvia Pérez Cruz at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 22 March. As one of the hottest genre-blending singer-songwriters across European countries, Pérez Cruz never ceases to impress the audience with her sweet and silken voice. With a string quintet and a bare voice, her music gently caresses and heals the soul.

Heavily influenced by her father, guitarist Càstor Pérez Diz, Sílvia Pérez Cruz grew up studying piano, saxophone and vocal jazz in the prestigious Taller de Músics and Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona, where she also performed with a number of funk, bossa nova and jazz groups. Drawing upon jazz, flamenco, bolero, fado, Catalan and Galician music and South American folk songs, Pérez Cruz’s album Vestida de Nit is deeply personal, raw and real. A true storyteller that sings with emotion and a sentiment of love.
Pérez Cruz has won two Gold Albums with 11 de novembre (2011) and Granada (2014), as well as two Best Original Songs at the Goya Film Awards in 2014 and 2017. Not only is she a renowned singer-songwriter in the scene, she is also a diverse performer. Her performance as an actress, singer and composer for the 2015 film At Your Doorstep (Cerca de tu casa) is highly-acclaimed and truly arresting.
For her Hong Kong live debut, Pérez Cruz will be delivering a unique acoustic concert with a string ensemble that touches beyond language. Get ready for the first introduction of a Catalan voice at the 47th Hong Kong Arts Festival!
