Making her way to the 852 from the Down Under, our Queen Bee, Chris Edwards, spent two nights at the Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong. Find out about her experience!
I’ve stayed in a lot of fancy hotels, many of them in the name of writing a review for Honeycombers. To be honest, some were good, and others were… not as good. The Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong, however, has emerged as a new favourite of mine: it’s the perfect mix of great location, great views, and fun city vibes – an excellent choice for anyone looking to mix luxury with local flavour. Here’s why this hotel gets a big tick from me, and should be your pick for your next trip to Hong Kong.
A review of Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong
Amazing views and stylish vibes
First off, the views from the hotel are stunning. Every room here has a view of the Victoria Harbour – pretty much unheard of in my book! There’s nothing like waking up to the iconic skyline right from your bed. My room was super comfy and had a modern design that made me feel at ease from the moment I stepped in.
The whole hotel is Insta-worthy, too, with sleek and stylish touches everywhere I looked. The rooftop infinity pool was a real highlight for me! Not only was it a great place to cool off, it’s also ideal for snapping some content with the city skyline as my backdrop for the feed.
Discover North Point like a local
North Point is an excellent place to stay in Hong Kong, because it offers a unique blend of traditional charm and contemporary convenience. This vibrant neighbourhood is rich in local culture, featuring bustling markets, authentic eateries, and historical landmarks that provide a glimpse of authentic Hong Kong life. Staying in North Point allows visitors to experience the urban landscape, as it’s just a short train (or tram) ride away from Hong Kong’s main tourist spots in Causeway Bay and Central.
One of the coolest things about staying at the Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong is the “Explore North Point” map and coupons. When I checked in, I received an “Explorer Kit”, filled with free vouchers for local snacks and a handy tourist map. These guided me to the best local eats, including egg waffles, egg tarts, herbal tea, and tofu pudding – all of which I had a free coupon for! Giving me a taste of the real Hong Kong, I found this programme a fun, easy, and affordable way to explore the neighbourhood and sample genuine treats.
Prime location and easy access
Location-wise, it can’t get much better. The hotel is just a few steps from the North Point MTR Station, as well as bus and tram stops. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, getting around is a breeze. Hotspots like the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), International Financial Centre (IFC), and Quarry Bay are all just a quick 10-minute commute away. Being so close to all these key areas means you can easily hop around the city without wasting time.
Incredible ambience at Cruise Restaurant & Bar
The hotel’s rooftop Cruise Restaurant & Bar is a must-visit. Perched atop the Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong, Cruise offers a dining experience that blends stunning vistas, modern Asian cuisine, and a vibrant atmosphere. In addition to the contemporary Asian dishes, the creative cocktail menu needs a mention, too, as it features a range of locally inspired drinks that are both inventive and delicious. The set menu and free-flow bubbles deals are crowd favourites, offering delectable food at unbeatable value. Psst – wear elastic waist trousers when you come here!
My evening at Cruise was fantastic, accompanied by good tunes, a stunning setting, and friendly staff who really went out of their way to make me feel at home. The views, the food, and the service all came together to create an awesome night out. Whether you’re staying at the hotel or just looking for a place to eat, Cruise is definitely worth checking out.
For me, Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong was the perfect blend of luxury and local culture. With stunning scenery, stylish design, a prime location, and top-notch dining, it makes a top choice for your next Hong Kong trip – and you bet I’ll be returning soon.
