Another homegrown brand, My Rules Hong Kong, was launched by Gloria Tsui Hiu-ming. Tired of the typically loose-fitting or dark-coloured options in plus-size clothing, Gloria is making her own rules instead. Offering fun and flirty clothes for a wide range of sizes (usually L to 3XL), this brand has something for everyone – even an array of underwear and bras. 4. XSXXL
One of the few menswear-focused stores on the list, XSXXL was founded by John Wu in 2007. Importing the latest men’s fashion in plus-sizes from all around the world, the brand carries popular labels such as X-Five, Wrangler, Stussy, Carhartt, and more. Offering sizes from 2XL to 8XL, XSXXL wants everyone to know that “style has no size”.

5. LoveIt
A great option for investment and long-term pieces, LoveIt offers a range of sizes for plus-size bodies. However, if you don’t quite fit the mould (not many of us do!), customisation options are also available. The standard sizes run from UK 2 to 22+ (US 00 to 18+), but you can tailor your fits to flatter your body. Although prices are on the higher end, the fabrics are of high quality and can come in a variety of colours and prints. With numerous shops around town, Marks & Spencer is a staple for curvy bodies. Try things on in person at the physical stores, with some carrying up to a size UK 18. While this is already a wider range than most shops in Hong Kong, M&S’ online store even has sizes up to UK 24. Though the styles here tend to go classic rather than trendy, you won’t go wrong in terms of quality and comfort.

7. American Eagle
Did you know that you can find a pair of sturdy, reliable, and classic jeans for plus-size bodies right at American Eagle? The brand has been steadily working to diversify and highlight underrepresented voices and faces, expanding its jeans selection to feature the Curvy Jean collection, along with extended sizing for its existing jean styles. The sizing for bottoms ranges from US 000 to 20 for women, and dresses go up to XXXL. Men aren’t left out here either, with bottoms’ sizes going from 26 to 46 inches in the waist. Bonus: larger sizes and the Curvy Jean collection aren’t marked up at all!

Although there are some valid criticisms of H&M in relation to fast fashion, this brand is actually relatively inclusive in the sizing department. It stocks sizes from US XXS to 4XL, and even has a dedicated plus sized selection. With classic styles as well as funky branded collections, you can shop up a storm at H&M.

While shipping fees can add up, you’ll have access to an endless selection of stores worldwide. The Curve and Plus-Size line at ASOS includes clothes that aren’t only trendy and fun, but are also available in sizes from UK 16 to 38. In the men’s section, you’ll find sizes from 2XS to 6XL as well as options for taller folk. Shein also has a Curve and Plus selection, with women’s sizes ranging from 0XL to 5XL, as well as men’s sizing in XXS to 5XL. The prices at ASOS and Shein are truly unbeatable but – like all fast fashion – they also come with quality and ethical issues.
