The “One Beat, One World: Connecting Through the Drum” Drum Carnival and 5G Live Concert is back! Organised by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra and presented by Chinachem Group, this year’s event will be held on 8 December in the Great Lawn of West Kowloon Art Park. Expect jaw-dropping performances by renowned drummers from around the world, complemented by dynamic choreography. Our tip: Don’t forget to bring your own picnic mat to enjoy the free event (and the beautiful sunset)!
2024 Hong Kong Drum Festival: “One Beat, One World: Connecting Through the Drum”
Drum Carnival: An all-immersive celebration
The event commences with the Drum Carnival at 12pm, offering a variety of interactive cultural experiences. Feel the beat at the ultimate 3.47-metre-tall Peace Drum for the #DrumChallenge and marvel at the thrilling finale of the Hong Kong Synergy 24 Drum Competition. Catch video performances by drum ensembles from Hong Kong’s 18 districts on the giant silver screen, then get up close to the vibrant Intangible Cultural Heritage Drum Music and Dance parade, featuring exciting lion dance performances. Savour gourmet delights from around the globe, before getting hands-on at drum workshops and fun game booths.
Live Concert: An audiovisual spectacle
From 4.45 to 6.30pm, the grand 5G Live Concert will follow. You can look forward to beautiful music from the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, and groove to the dynamic displays of Japanese tap dance, Korean drum dance, Malaysian drum theatre, Indian tabla and dance, and more.
