From stunning swimming pools to luxurious spas and a huge selection of cuisine from across the globe, Avani Hua Hin Resort & Villas should be on your radar, especially if you're travelling with kids
As much as we love the chaos that is Hong Kong, sometimes we just need to get away. Whether that’s a weekend break to fabulous Singapore, a week in Phnom Penh or travelling further afield like the North of Mauritius, there’s nothing like a break to recharge those batteries. So when we were asked to head over to Thailand and check out the newly opened Avani Hua Hin Resort & Villas, we were happy to oblige.
Avani Hua Hin Resort & Villas: Something for the whole family

This large beachfront property on the Gulf of Thailand offers something for the whole family, and a range of accommodation options too. I was lucky enough to nab a Pool Villa, just one minute from the beach, and complete with swimming pool, bath and outdoor shower (who showers indoors anymore!?)
The pool villa is large enough for a couple and one child and offers access to the Avani Club, where you can enjoy breakfast and complimentary drinks in the evening. These villas are also close to the beachfront restaurant Brezza that serves quality Italian food with a stunning backdrop of the ocean and has a wonderful live band to help up the ambience – not that it needs it.

But there are loads of options besides the pool villas. Choose a Deluxe room, or the Jacuzzi option or grab a room or suite that has direct access to the HUGE swimming pool. There is also a Two Bedroom Sea Villa that sleeps four adults and two kids with ease.
Is it good for kids?

While I travelled alone, I know that kids of any age would love this place. One big plus is the amount of space everywhere. There’s a giant lawn between the Avani Club and the villas for them to play on when they aren’t enjoying the pool, and I’m sure they will love the buggy rides between the lobby and the rest of the property as much as I did.
There’s also a fully supervised Kids’ Club, so the little ones can be kept busy with creative activities, time in the kids pool and exploring the two acres of landscaped gardens.
What about us adults?

Avani Hua Hin Resort & Villas really offers the best of both worlds. While the kids are playing in the Kids’ Club, adults can enjoy a relaxing spa at Avani Spa. I had a one hour oil massage that was specifically tailored to my personal preferences and needs, and I can happily report that it was fab. They also offer a selection of facials, waxing services and mani/pedis.
Alternatively, grab a drink in the Terrace Bar or Aqua, that sits poolside, and spend some time soaking up the sun and relaxing with a cocktail in hand. Or order room service and chow down on some really good pad Thai and mango sticky rice from STAA’s Thai restaurant (which is also where you can enjoy breakfast)… mmm… mango sticky rice…
Of course if that’s not enough for you, there are lots of fun things to do in Hua Hin that will keep you occupied.
It’s hard to fault a little slice of paradise like Avani Hua Hin Resort & Villas, as the staff are amazingly friendly and happy to make you comfortable at all times. It’s probably best for you to just check it out yourself.
