An outpost of the award-winning OKU Japanese Restaurant in Jakarta, Izakaya by OKU at The Apurva Kempinski brings all of the flagship’s finest creations to Bali, this time served up in a dynamic and casual atmosphere that reinvents a typical izakaya. 2. Kayuputi at The St. Regis Bali Resort
For beachfront fine dining par excellence, head to Kayuputi restaurant at The St. Regis Bali Resort. This elegant foodie masterpiece is centred by a grand open kitchen, together with a two-storey wine cellar, private dining cabanas on the outdoor terrace (complete with a cool ocean breeze and panoramic views!) and an oh-so chic ambience. 3. Art Cafe by Bumbu Bali
An ode to Bali , Art Cafe is a culinary, cultural and visual art experience from the same family who bought us the legendary Bumbu Bali restaurant and cooking school. The restaurant itself is a representation of a Balinese home, complete with warm and genuine hospitality and decades-old knowledge of authentic Balinese cuisine. The menu highlight has to be the traditional Rijsttafel feast, where plate upon plate is served up around a steaming bowl of rice, featuring a selection of different dishes to sample, swap and share family-style. All of this is surrounded by artwork and digital prints that capture and celebrate this magical island paradise.

4. Hamabe
Not only famous for its Teppanyaki, Hamabe at The Westin Resort is a dazzling restaurant designed to depict a Japanese village street: on one side of the dining room sits a long sushi and sashimi counter, whilst on the other, Shabu-Shabu and a Robatayaki station sizzles and smokes as delicacies are seared on the grill. As the main event, the calls and clatters of the Teppan are ever-present, alongside the oohs and aahs from satisfied diners. And did we mention, there’s an extensive selection of sake too?

Bringing people together over great food and laidback beachfront vibes, Kulkul Beach House is Bali’s oceanfront venue with dazzling views. This chic destination at The Laguna Resort & Spa follows a zero-waste concept, paired with sustainably sourced ingredients and innovative cooking techniques. From smoked salmon macaroons. to vegetarian flatbreads and traditional local favourites, there’s plenty to graze on here. A beach club and restaurant combo, Manarai Beach House is Nusa Dua’s hottest daytime destination, with easy breezy island vibes and a panoramic palette of paradise in fifty shades of blue,. If you’re after a laid-back spot to take your sandy feet and salty hair, then head to Nusa Dua Beach Grill for some beachfront BBQ-ing.
