The Honeycombers do Chill out Sunday at Sand Bar
The honey gals headed down to Sand Bar to relish the last of our weekend chilling by the beach and kicking back to soothing Bossa Nova tunes. Boy, did we have fun – and some mini Monday blues the next day! Well, it would be rude not to.
We kicked off the evening with a round of mojitos (1-for-1 mojitos for $16 all night long!) which we paired with delish thin crust pizzas. Non-drinkers need not fret because the bar has a decent selection of mocktails, like Peachy Beachy, and fresh juices.
Carnivores will love the beef meatball pizza ($18), served with handmade beef meatballs and generous lashings of mozzarella cheese, or the chicken on fire pizza ($18) which comes with leafy baby spinach, slices of crunchy capsicum and hearty portions of roasted chicken. Other yummy bar bites include the value-for-money potato wedges ($5) – a generous serving of chunky wedges tossed with fresh herbs.
We savoured our munchies and drinks while revelling in the live tunes from Indigo, who graced the stage with three sets that evening. Lead songstress, Dawn Ho, bowled us over with her sultry voice and salsa dance moves while her band members displayed their musical prowess through sexy saxophone and guitar solos.
It’s a great laid back atmosphere for gatherings with friends or dates with your significant other, but don’t hesitate to make it a family affair either! Honeycombers’ mamasan, Chris, had her precious littlies down with us and they had a great time playing around in the sand and shaking their hips along with the music.
We capped off the night with a final round of martinis (we loved the apple fruitinis!), which we enjoyed while soaking in the amazing view of the sunset along the ocean horizon.
It was one helluva Sunday evening, which had us wishing the weekend would never end.
