CEO of Unlisted Collection

There are many things I love about Singapore. I think perhaps it’s the energy of the place and people that I find most energising.
Tell us your story, how did you get here?
I started out as a lawyer and “accidentally” got into hotels and restaurants. My first hotel was the heritage-listed Hotel 1929 in what was then the red-light Keong Saik Road in Chinatown in 2003.
What impact have you made in Singapore?
I have never given this any thought. I just do my best in every project that I do. I don’t think I have particularly impacted Singapore but Singapore has certainly impacted me greatly.
What does 2022 look like for you?
It’s been a rocky start but I think it’s improving rapidly. I hope to make a good go of 2022 as the world starts to recover from Covid.
What do you love most about Singapore?
It’s home so there are many things I love about Singapore. I think perhaps it’s the energy of the place and people that I find most energising.
If you could choose your last meal, what would it be?
Nasi padang. Love my Indon food!
Who is your Local Legend, and why?
I think it would have to be the three ministers heading up the Covid response. That is one job I wouldn’t want to have because you can’t please anyone!
