Or butter up your loved ones with amazing cakes. We found the best cheesecakes in Singapore – each slice a mix of rich creaminess and just the right amount of sweetness. It’s pretty impossible to just stop at one bite. From Basque burnt cheesecakes to New York-style cheesecakes to all sorts of unique flavours, here are our favourites.
Where to buy the best cheesecakes in Singapore
1. Cake Spade
We’re wild about Cake Spade, where all things pink are celebrated. This store is where you can get stunning cakes, brownies, tarts, cookies and cupcakes to satisfy any craving. If you’ve never tried the signature tofu cheesecakes, you’re missing out. Fret not; there’s no actual tofu in these desserts. They’re just named this way because of their wobblier-than-usual form. Available in flavours such as peach, lychee and strawberry, each creation is made of jelly, digestive cookie crust and fruits for a lighter treat.
Want something more decadent? Try the Basque burnt cheesecake. Or dig into the brownie bottom cheesecake, Reese’s peanut butter and orange cheesecake, and Nutella cheesecake cookie tart for maximum enjoyment.
Cake Spade, available online and at #01-04, Orchid Hotel Singapore, 1 Tras Link, Singapore 078867
2. Queic by Olivia
A cafe that focuses on cheesecakes? That sounds like our jam. It’s established by the team behind Olivia Restaurant & Lounge – the same place that kickstarted the burnt cheesecake craze in 2019. Just follow your nose and it’ll lead you to this space, where cheesecakes are baked fresh daily. Go straight for the signature creation made of cream, blue cheese and almond sable in various sizes, we say.
Feeling adventurous? Try the truffle brie cheesecake that’s made with mascarpone, truffles, brie de meaux and almond glaze. It’s a neat balance of savoury and sweet. Of course, there are more cheesecakes on the menu, so you’ll have to return time and again for the brie cheesecake, salted toffee cheesecake, apple cheesecake, and chocolate coulant cheesecake with layers of chocolate ganache and salted hazelnut praline.
Queic by Olivia, available online and at 41 Kreta Ayer Road, Singapore 089003
3. Dirty Cheesecake
Don’t be fooled by the name – these cheesecakes aren’t dirty. Instead, they’re so decadent, they’ll make you feel like you committed a crime against your body. The cafe space isn’t the most accessible, so thank the delivery gods you don’t have to journey to the west.
We hope you’re decisive because these melt-in-your-mouth burnt cheesecakes don’t just come in classic versions. They’re also whipped up in lychee rose, pistachio, ondeh ondeh and Biscoff flavours. Or get the Dirty8 for eight different variations.
Dirty Cheesecake, available online and at #01-77, NeWest, 1 West Coast Drive, Singapore 128020
4. LeTao
Famous for the smooth and light texture of its cakes, this Japanese pastry shop excels in its double fromage cheesecake. Hailing from Hokkaido, these treats aren’t the most pocket-friendly – the size is small for how much they cost – but when you’re in the mood to splurge, they’re worth it. Cocoa lovers can also go for the chocolate double cheesecake for extra rich flavours.
LeTao, available online and at #B4-05, Ion Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn, Singapore 238801
5. Paparch
When we’re in the mood for burnt cheesecake, we look to Paparch for the hottest treats in Singapore. This is one name that always sells out quickly, so you’ll have to keep tabs on it to avoid crushing disappointment. A professionally-trained chef is the baker behind the home-based halal kitchen, which doles out burnt cheesecakes in various flavours that are downright delicious.
Paparch, available online
6. Le Petit Baker
No matter if you’re looking for brownies or cookies – Le Petit Baker absolutely nails it across the dessert realm. The burnt cheesecakes, in particular, are a luscious mix of creamy core and beautifully burnt top. You can always go for the classic, chocolate or vanilla, but we’re eyeing the more unique flavours like pistachio, purple yam, mochi, roasted black sesame and Mandarin orange.
Le Petit Baker, available online
7. Bakery Brera
The popular bakery is known for its artisanal bread, pastries and tarts made with flour sourced from France and Japan. But what we love about its line-up is the holy trinity of original, hojicha and Oreo burnt cheesecakes made fresh in its kitchen. These slices of paradise are worth all the calories.
Bakery Brera, available online and at multiple locations including Empress Road and Stamford Road
8. Fluff Bakery
What started as a home baking hobby has since evolved into a must-try bakery over the years. We simply can’t walk past Fluff without giving in to temptation and buying a few desserts off the shelves. Besides the uber popular cupcakes and cakes in local and classic flavours, the store whips up a wicked Basque burnt cheesecake that’s got just the right amount of custard-like ooze from the centre. For more gooey goodness, try the chocolate brownie cheesecake.
Fluff Bakery, available online and at 795 North Bridge Road, Singapore 198763
9. Cat and the Fiddle
This shop adores cheesecakes as much as we do, which is why it’s our go-to whenever a special occasion rolls around. From the classic New York cheesecake to flavours like yuzu, Mao Shan Wang durian, apple crumble, chocolate and lychee, there’s something for everyone. Those in the mood for burnt cheesecake can get the Toasty Burnt layered with cream cheese and martabak cheese. Each smouldering, scrumptious slice is sweet, savoury and full of fab flavours and textures.
But if you love variety, you can’t go wrong with the Fickle Feline, featuring 10 slices including strawberry, yuan yang, mango, salted caramel, and tiramisu. It’s perfect for sharing, so everyone can get a taste.
Cat and the Fiddle, available online and at multiple outlets including The Central @ Clarke Quay
10. Keong Saik Bakery
We love the hip, retro-tinged bakery for its old school bread and pastries with a modern twist. It was birthed on Keong Saik Road (hence the name) in 2017 but has since moved its flagship store to Bendemeer. The cake slices here are fantastic, especially if you prefer lighter, fruity variations. Of course, we have to give a shoutout to the original burnt cheesecake, where every forkful is a mish-mash of creamy cheese and fab flavours. For something more unique, try the attap chee rose cheesecake that’s delicate, floral and studded with palm seeds.
