Hong Kong is an urban city jungle and having a good healthy work and social life balance can be difficult. Workout gurus, gym lovers and yoga enthusiasts will love the Spartan Race in Hong Kong, an endurance obstacle course that pushes athletes to the limits. Plus, families can also join in on the fun, as children can compete in the Spartan Kids race, where all young warriors will finish with a medal around their necks.
Spartan Race and Spartan Kids race return to Hong Kong
The Spartan Race is a global obstacle course race, with 240 races operating in over 25 countries around the world. Be prepared to run, climb, push, pull and crawl through walls, hills, trees and even barbed wire over the 12km course.
The first edition of the Spartan Race in Hong Kong was held in 2016, and had over 12,000 racers from a total of 26 countries and regions. The race attracts a diverse range of people from all backgrounds in fitness levels and is designed to push each attendee’s body to the limit.
Athletes of all ages can join the Spartan Race and Spartan Kids Race this autumn, as it returns to Hong Kong with even more exciting new obstacles. The third edition of the race, will take place on 4 November at the Kam Tin Country Club in Yuen Long.
Spartan Kids Race
Families can watch on as their Spartan kids, the future warriors of tomorrow, make their way through a fun-filled muddy obstacle course. Childrens aged 4-13 can develop and test their fitness capabilities – having fun and getting dirty is absolutely mandatory!
Spartan Kids aims to promote a child’s sense of adventure in a healthy and mindful way. The races for those aged 4-7 years old is one kilometre, while those aged 8-13 years will run two kilometres.
Each heat is age specific so make sure you do line up for your age group race. For those who want to race competitively, participants must be between 11-13, and awards will be given to the fastest three boys and girls. Don’t worry about missing out on a prize because every racer receives a headband, a racer’s t-shirt and a medal after completing the course.
Spartan Kids Race believes in instilling a sense of excitement in a child’s life through invigorating activity with the support of families and a vibrant community of people. It’s time to get healthy, get active and have fun!
