Whether you enjoy outdoor activities or indoor entertainment, check out these events to have a fun-filled February weekend
There are plenty of things you can do on the weekend, from planning a day trip to Tai O fishing villages to listening to podcasts like Talking Mental at home – either way, you just need a break from work and relax. And if you’re one of those outgoing peeps, meaning Netflix can’t be your sole companion on the weekend, then we’ve compiled a list of things to do this weekend in Hong Kong for you – you’re welcome.
Things to do this weekend in Hong Kong: 23-24 February
Envy Live in Hong Kong
Looking to catch some live music action and perhaps join in a mosh pit? Japanese post-rock/hardcore band Envy will return to the city on 24 February and it’s definitely one of the most exciting things to do this weekend in Hong Kong for music lovers. Most known for their explosive sounds and dynamic stage performance, you’re going to sweat like a pig!

Touching the Void
Hong Kong Arts Festival 2019 is right around the corner and we look forward to catching the theatre production Touching the Void, which is running from 21 February to 2 March. Revolving around two men who are attempting a dangerous Andean mountain ascent climbing on the same rope in horrible weather, it soon becomes a matter of life and death. If you’re a fan of adventure, this is the kind of survival story you can’t miss out on.

Mahka present Beautiful Contradictions
In collaboration with urban photographers Michael Kistler and Tricia Darling, Mahka presents Beautiful Contradictions: A Recycling Concept of Fashion, Music and Art on 21 February (it’s technically not the weekend, but we think it’s worth checking out.) Featuring a photographic exhibition inspired by street graffiti, workshops on upcycling, you’ll get to enjoy art and music, as well as to learn how to repurpose used clothes. All the donated clothes will be transformed into a new collection to be sold at the store – let’s see how it’s done! If you can’t make it on Thursday, you can still check that out their lovely artwork from Tuesday to Sunday at the store.
