A review of Tiger Family’s school bag for kids
Q: Why Tiger Family?

A: My daughter, Sophia, is almost five, and with school curriculums and activities constantly evolving, I’m always on the lookout for new school supplies. This year, a new school bag is on the list. Tiger Family caught my eye with their sustainable and innovative approach to product design, and I was completely sold when I learned that they’re the only brand recommended by the Hong Kong Chiropractic Association for ergonomic excellence.
Supporting environmentally conscious brands is important to me. Tiger Family’s commitment to sustainability is evident in their award-winning Go Green and Go Ocean collections, which feature green designs and fabrics made from ocean waste.
Q: What made you decide to purchase this school bag?

A: My daughter loves how pretty the bags look on the website. The designs are all unique and eye-catching, it was actually really hard to choose from all the gorgeous colours and prints, but the purple kitty with reversible sequins won for Sophie. The sequins act like a fidget toy as well as being aesthetic. The snap closure has a satisfying click when you close it, and Sophie loves the independence it gives her being able to open, pack, and carry the bag comfortably all by herself.
It’s a new sense of freedom for Sophie being responsible for her own bag (and for me, no longer having to carry her things for her!)
Q: Is the product as ergonomically efficient as promised?

A: We’re so happy with the high level of comfort and durability. The straps are padded and adjustable to fit her perfectly, and clip across the chest and around her waist for more even weight distribution. We also like how there is specific padding against her back and sides that moulds to support her spine.
The core of the bag is a hard shell, which helps to keep items within the bag in place and stop them from shifting as she moves. This also prevents items from digging uncomfortably into her back.

The width of the bag fits against her shoulders and there are two equal-sized pockets on either side of the bag which also helps with evenly distributing weight, which helps immensely with her posture.
Q: Compared to her previous school bags, how do these features stack up?

A: I have not seen this level of thoughtful design in other school bag we have had. Loose straps, shifting items that stick haphazardly out from too-soft material that creates discomfort, having single pockets on one side of the bag so that heavy drink bottles and other items create a lop-sided weight distribution are just some of the gripes we have had in the past. All of this is resolved in the Tiger Family school bag design.
Q: How user-friendly and practical is the school bag for your child?

A: We love the snap button closure! No fiddly zip to the main bag compartment means Sophie can easily open and close the bag herself, fostering her independence. A separate elasticated compartment is great for storing books (of which Sophie always carries plenty!) and there is ample space in the main compartment for her lunchbox, hat, and of course, toys.
Having velcro flaps on either side also helps with easy access when storing smaller items that need to be kept upright. The front zip compartment is nice to secure smaller items like hair bands and tissues.

We also love the set of affirmation cards that came with the school bag; the encouraging messages are great little daily reminders that help foster a strong sense of self-belief and positivity.
