In Good Business, our new weekly business podcast, Honeycombers and Launchpad founder Chris Edwards chats with business leaders, CEOs, and entrepreneurs about creating businesses that have an overwhelmingly positive impact on the world.
Are you a new business owner who’s in dire need of advice or a great community? Or perhaps you’re navigating towards a sustainable business in 2023. We’ve got just the thing for you! Tune in to Good Business with Chris Edwards, a new podcast that goes behind the scenes with leaders of brands that have people, planet, and profit at the core of their mission.
The journey towards creating heart-led businesses and conscious companies
It’s no secret that the business world is rapidly changing. As consumers demand more ethical, transparent, and values-led companies (to align with their own values), more of these heart-led businesses are changing the status quo. Whether it’s building forests with water sales, creating net-zero restaurants or attempting to get 1 billion people to consider vegan options – there are some wildly ambitious entrepreneurs across Asia who are making real change… and creating really good businesses.
“Helping other entrepreneurs reach their dreams has been a big part of my life. Last year, with the help of my amazing team, I created Launchpad, a community support powerhouse for other entrepreneurs, where I spend my time coaching, helping, and uplifting others,” Chris shares.
But, as someone who’s always flush with new ideas and concepts, she wanted more. And that led to the debut of the Good Business podcast.
“I selfishly wanted to learn from the seriously amazing business minds, CEOs, and incredible entrepreneurs we have in Asia – to understand how we can create businesses that not only balance business, sustainability, and ethics, but also have a positive impact on the world.”
Chris calls it the triple bottom line: people, planet, and profit. Intrigued yet? Join her for a weekly dose of inspirational stories that will fuel you with ideas, courage, and tenacity for your own journey. Because you never know where an idea will take you, right?
A peek at what’s to come for Good Business
With five episodes of Good Business already launched, here’s what to expect. One of our beginning episodes stars Vikas Garg, Founder of abillion, who talks about scaling a sustainable social media platform through partnerships and community. Since 2017, Vikas has made an impact by donating 2.4 million USD, helping more than 60 non-profit organisations, feeding over 41,000 hungry children, and replacing 580,000 animal-based meals.
Next, we have Olivia Cotes-James, Founder and CEO of Luüna, in our fourth episode. Going beyond a typical period product company, Luüna has become an educational platform, as well as a community-driven and purpose-led business. In the podcast, Olivia divulges how she managed to overcome stigma, fundraise as a female founder, and face the loneliness of entrepreneurship.
Another brand you’re probably already familiar with – SaladStop! One of the first and largest sustainable, healthy, and environmentally conscious food chains in Asia, SaladStop! has 70 outlets in eight markets, including Hong Kong. In our most recent episode, we met up with its founder, Adrien Desbaillets, to discuss how he built green thinking and initiatives into the brand’s DNA, plus how they managed to not only pivot and survive, but also raise 8.8 million USD amidst Covid.
So, if you’re keen to find out what it takes to build a good business, tune in each week to the podcast for all the tips and life lessons!
