This year’s annual Walk & Talk series is a ten-day ongoing event. The event finishes with the Talking Mental Hub, a pop-up public event on 16- 17 October, located at the prominent Central Harbourfront. This is a completely free event open to the public to get the conversation started in the heart of Hong Kong. The Talking Mental Hub will host six panel discussions per day, covering different themes and concepts surrounding mental health. These include sleep and prevention, relationships, anxiety, and more.
Also, participants can visit the various booths at the hub, featuring Walk & Talks’ ten partners, such as Mind Hong Kong, Mental Health Foundation, and Shall We Talk. If that’s not exactly your forte, there’ll be a range of fun activities for you to experience, too, like the Lululemon ice bath breathing session. Or, have a laugh at Vivek Mahubani’s light comedic approach to his workshop on how to change your perspective.
The Founder, Aaron Stadlin-Robbie, will be leading walks around Hong Kong for seven days, along with local and expatriate experts who will be sharing on different themes around Mental Health that are prevalent in Hong Kong. Each day, the walks will spotlight different locations across Hong Kong to encourage locals to join throughout the city.
Conversations shared with experts will be available as live-streams along the routes, so that the community has an open platform and the chance to tune in live. Participants and viewers will also be able to ask questions to different experts they wouldn’t normally have access to. Aaron says, “The purpose and intention of the Walk & Talk series is to educate on accessibility support, shift the stigma around Mental Health in a fun way, and point them in the right direction to explore different channels of support for their mental health, that works for them.”
Talking Mental needs your support!
Help Talking Mental reach a wider audience! Invite a friend, a group of friends, bring your family; help the organisation spread the word to create a meaningful impact within our community. No one deserves to suffer in silence on their own. It’s time for us to stand together and help one another on the path of healing. The first step in the right direction is raising our awareness and educating ourselves about Mental Health.
About Talking Mental
Set up in 2018, Talking Mental is a quick-start guide to understanding and dealing with mental health in general. A content creation platform that addresses all matters involving mental health, Talking Mental began as a series of online podcasts and short videos, and has now developed to include live events and workshops. We work with schools to create a safe, informal, accessible, and informative environment, talking about mental health issues that affect us every day.
About Aaron Stadlin-Robbie
