“The Rescued Feast: Chomp Turns Three” is the latest event presented by Chomp in collaboration with Soho House Hong Kong. Underscoring the vital importance of sustainability and innovation in addressing food waste, award-winning Chef May Chow of Little Bao will be joining the event series for the first time, bringing her personal and innovative approach to modern Chinese cuisine to the kitchens of Soho House Hong Kong. She’ll be working alongside Chris Czerwinski, Executive Chef at Soho House Hong Kong, who is taking on the unique challenge for a second time.
As is the nature of the event, the chefs will only have a few days’ notice of what ingredients will be made available to them. They will need to curate a desirable menu that utilises the food scraps and surplus for the anticipated 250 guests. Food and beverage brands already confirmed to donate towards the feast include Dough Bro’s; Bon-Eat-O; Treehouse; Spicebox Organics; Biltong Chief; Permaclub; Jean May; A Spark of Madness; and Cocoes – all playing a vital role in ensuring less food goes to waste in Hong Kong. The two previous “The Rescued Feast” events (which took place in April and July of this year) saved a combined 660 kg of food from entering landfill.
No birthday is complete without a gift, therefore the event will feature a raffle that will be raising money for the charity Mother’s Choice. Raffle sponsors include Soho House Hong Kong; Quality Goods Club; La Cabane; Parallel 51; A Sense of Touch; Pads Pads Boxing; The Round Clinic; and Veggie Kingdom, with more to be announced. Every attendee will also take home a newly designed Chomp tote bag filled with goods and vouchers from brands such as Cocoes; Breer; Emma Wallace; Sense of Touch; and Bump & Co.
