Since the outbreak of COVID-19, there has been a lot written about how office and residential spaces will change as a result of the pandemic. Assuming that COVID-19 along with the increased reliance on technology, greater focus on wellness and sustainability do change the way we live and work, what will these spaces, in which we all spend so much time in look like in the immediate future?
Applicants are required to submit a short presentation featuring floor plans, sketches, renderings, or images to showcase what they think office or residential space of the immediate future may look like in Hong Kong. Submissions will be judged on how well they respond to the brief and on the clarity and presentation of their ideas. Applicants can be as creative as they would like while understanding some of the real-life limitations of space.
The competition judging panel includes experts from the design and architecture industries: Otto Ng from LAAB Architects, Eric Schuldenfrei from ESKYIU, Suzy Annetta from Design Anthology, Asia Edition, Joe Ho, Senior Designer of Steelcase APAC, Alex Jones from Spawton Architecture, and Alex Bent from District15.
