The Indra and Harry Banga Gallery of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) will be hosting a new exhibition, “Might and Magnificence: Ceremonial Arms and Armour across Cultures.” From now until 23 February 2025, the exhibition will showcase ceremonial arms and armour not just as functional weapons, but also as profound symbols of cultural and social identity. Nearly 200 rare items are acquired from esteemed private and local public collections for display, including the Mengdiexuan and R&J Collections. You’ll find weaponry from different cultures, countries, religions, and history on exhibition, demonstrating the importance and multifarious roles these objects have played beyond their practical use in war.
