Like everything in life, we all look for different things when it comes to choosing the right international school. Perhaps you’re on the hunt for a school that works to a curriculum of your home country, or maybe you want your child to have options when it comes to what qualification they leave school with.
If your child has never lived in your home country, you may want to enrol them at a school with many teachers of their own nationality to give them a connection and to foster a stronger understanding of where you’re from.
The expat population in Hong Kong is constantly growing and diversifying with more people from more countries calling the city home. In response, schools are offering greater options across age ranges, with many adding pre-school sections that are smaller and less intimidating for smaller children.
Classes are now being offered in a wider range of languages and a variety of teaching styles are being employed to help educate the next generation. On top of that, as students progress, you need to start thinking about career and university counselling, not-to-mention extracurricular activities for development and enhancement programmes; it’s a lot!
