If you’re looking for tailors, rejoice – there’s practically one on every street corner. The best way to choose your tailor is to check out some of the garments they’re currently making and look out for stitching and attention to detail.
Alta Moda
If four floors of fabric sounds like it’s your idea of shopping heaven then it’s Alta Moda for you. They boast a huge array of fabrics from jerseys, cottons, and linens to sublime lace, silk, and men’s suiting. You won’t even have to leave the shop as they have on-site tailors who are incredibly thorough and can make to measure or can copy your own garment. Just a word of advice, they are more expensive than if you take your clothes elsewhere but they are reliable and deliver on time.

Jalan Sulawesi
Ok, this is not technically a shop but an entire street lined cheek to jowl with fabric shops. It’s not for the faint hearted either as most of the shops are dusty and not air-conditioned but a bit of perseverance here will earn you big rewards. There are some truly beautiful fabrics to be found with anything from ornate lace to silk and batik. Get a driver or taxi to take you as it will make the experience as hassle-free as possible. Even if fabrics aren’t your thing, Jalan Sulawesi is a fabulous sightseeing opportunity.

Wardani Textiles
In Ubud you need look no further than Wardani on Monkey Forest Road. This textile emporium literally has thousands of fabrics to choose from with superb silks, cottons, and linens as well as a fabulous array of traditional ikat, sarongs, and sashes. It’s also a great place to purchase the perfect Bali memento.

Busana Indah
If you’re staying in the Seminyak area then you have a fabulous fabric shop on your villa’s doorstep. Busana Indah is located close to the Double Six turn off and has a fantastic array of fabrics available. Even better, it’s all fixed price and the staff are incredibly helpful.
