Feel the magic in the air by experiencing a traditional Balinese Full Moon ceremony at this gorgeous Seminyak resort, complete with Hindu blessing, followed by a moonlit beachfront dinner.
If you are coming to Bali over the next full moon, what could be better than experiencing the magic of such a night than with a traditional Balinese full moon ceremony at a fabulous Seminyak resort! It is no secret that the Balinese have strong commitments to their Hindu religious rituals and ceremonies, and the full moon, or ‘Purnama’, is one of the most important in the calendar. Due to the moon’s power and strength when at its fullest, the Balinese use this occasion to thank the Gods for their protection, wash away sins and negative forces, and then celebrate ‘Rwa Binneda’ – the co-existence of 2 energies of life; good and evil.

On December 13th, the next full moon, The Oberoi, Bali invites you to take part in a traditional Balinese full moon ceremony. Although the resort is located in the lively neighbourhood of Seminyak, it still remains a quiet and tranquil escape. The property boasts acres of tropical landscaped gardens, a holy lotus pond, and many Hindu temples and shrines, and the beach front is considering one of Bali’s holiest, making it the perfect spot to seek divine intervention.

The Full Moon Ceremony is a unique experience that will take place at the hotel’s very own authentic Hindu temple. Dressed in a Balinese sarong and sash, you will receive a traditional Sanskrit blessing, for health, happiness, prosperity and a harmonious life, from the Pemangku [Hindu Priest], who will then chant prayers and sprinkle holy temple water over your head.

After the 45-minute ceremony, you will then be taken down to the beachfront gardens which are peacefully nestled in a coconut grove. Here you can enjoy a romantic and moonlit dinner for two, as you take in the moon’s magical energy and reflect on your traditional blessing.
Immerse yourself in the Balinese way of life, religion and culture, and don’t miss out on this incredible and unique experience when you stay at this luxurious resort in Seminyak.
The Full Moon Ceremony Costs USD $250++ per couple. For more information, or to book, please contact The Oberoi, Bali, Seminyak Beach, Jalan Kayu Aya, p. +62 (0)361 730 361.
