Train like a champion at Bali MMA, not only home to killer classes and world-class fighters, but also a warm and welcoming neighbourhood community...
If you think life in Bali is all about slow living and sunbathing by the beach, think again. The island’s tropical climate isn’t the only thing that helps us get our sweat on, because Bali is also home to countless world-class fitness facilities that draw in a community of athletes, coaches and international fitness enthusiasts. One of our faves is Bali MMA – the island’s mixed martial arts academy where some of the best fighters in the world train, spar, recover, repeat.
Ranked 5th by Fox Sports as “The best MMA gym in Asia”, Bali MMA brings out your personal best with its awesome facilities, killer reps and professional instruction from the elite team of coaches. Just ask the international athletes and professional fighters (including world champs!) who have graced the gym since 2014.
Now, we’re not professional fighters ourselves, but that’s the awesome thing about Bali MMA – it’s not a place only for the pros, but instead, a neighbourhood community for all levels. With its warm and welcoming vibe, Bali MMA brilliantly blends a non-intimidating, family-friendly atmosphere where professional fighters and kids can hang together. This means that you’ll (and the kids!) will not only learn skills and drills, you’ll also become a member of the toughest community on the island…
You’ll love it because… Bali MMA has got everything you could think of to bring out the best athlete in you. Starting with its top-notch facilities decked out with world-class amenities, you’ll find plenty of space to practice, from the full-size boxing ring and MMA cage, to the open mat area and heavy bags. The wall-to-wall mats give you enough space for grappling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, while the air-conditioned strength and conditioning room is fully equipped to complement your training. And on your recovery days, you’ll want to make full use of the sauna and cold plunge too. It’s no surprise that the former UFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, and the grappling world champion, Craig Jones, chose to train at Bali MMA!
But wait, there’s more. Bali MMA is backed by a professional and diverse coaching team with various backgrounds and years of experience on the competition level – from the Olympics and UFC, to other world-class stages. This means you have access to the highest standards of training, whether you’re preparing for a pro competition or just wanting to learn from the best. Plus, you’ll have the support from the whole Bali MMA fam, AKA your new gym besties.
You’ll want to try… the Muay Thai Pads class – it’s everyone’s favourite for so many reasons. First off, the class is open to all skill levels, whether you’re new to Muay Thai or you’re brushing up on your pad work. You’ll receive 100% of the coach’s attention, as you’ll be paired up to train one-on-one. This means that you can focus on exactly what you need to improve, be it your technique, fitness level or coordination. And finally, the welcoming environment of this class gives you all the supportive vibes you need to have fun whilst training. The 90-minute class begins with a warmup, followed by three (or more) rounds of pad work with your coach, plus bag work and conditioning.
Come back for… the community, AKA your new, extended family. Since 2014, Bali MMA has built not only strong athletes, but also a solid community. The team has created a welcoming environment, where everyone and anyone can turn up, give it go, and help each other grow. Here, the mantra is “not me, but us”, and the strength truly lies in the collective, making it a special place where people from all backgrounds feel welcome. It’s even kid-friendly too, with the largest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class for kids in the country. Don’t let the bulging muscles and powerful punches fool you – the Bali MMA team have the warmest smiles and the biggest hearts!
