The second edition of Singapore Insider is out, and it’s chockfull of the best places to go, eat, shop and play in April, May and June 2015
Excuse us while we do a little dance and fist pump in the air – the second issue of Singapore Insider, our very own quarterly print guide to the city, is now out island-wide. It’s brimming with awesome ideas for cool activities to do around in Singapore – from tourists attractions everyone has to visit, to alternative night-outs that locals would approve of.
In this issue, it’s all about eating and shopping in Singapore. April looks set to be appetising, what with major food events including World Street Food Congress (8 to 12 April), World Gourmet Summit (6 April to 3 May), and Gourmet Japan (20 April to 31 May) packing our calendar. May is when the Singapore fashion set comes out to play, hitting show after show at the city’s marquee fashion event Singapore Fashion Week (13 to 17 May). Of course, there’ll also be lots of shopping to do (hello Great Singapore Sale!), so we’ve curated the best and latest shopping spots in Singapore to hit up.
Once you’ve got that new outfit to show off, you’ll probably fancy leaving the pavements, malls and food markets behind for a night out on the town. Perfect, then, because there’s plenty happening on the Singapore stage this summer. Theatre fans can pencil in The Tempest at Fort Canning Park, ballet lovers can check out Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, and festival-goers have got to hit Baybeats.
As much as we pride ourselves on being a great tour guide (and your insider-y local friend who knows all), it’s also nice to hear what others have to say about this little red dot. Inside the nifty magazine, we interviewed a handful of interesting folks to discover even more handy tips around life in Singapore. This meant quizzing local style icon and restaurateur Velda Tan, renowned pastry chef Janice Wong and Anti:dote bartender Tom Hogan on their favourite neighborhoods.
Oh, and for those of you who spend more time in front of the computer than out and about, you can find all of the wondrous stories we’ve written for Singapore Insider right here in our site throughout June.
