Chez Vous: Hideaway is hell-bent on giving us a salon experience of a lifetime.
Be it chopping off some dead weight, getting a Golden Globe-worthy blowout or beach waves, we all love our trips to the salon but trust us – Chez Vous: Hideaway is a cut above the rest. Tucked away on the 14th storey of the unassuming Ngee Ann City Tower B, it’s the perfect refuge from the buzzing Orchard Road. I got a chance to experience this concept and let’s just say, I’m sold.
Enter a playful maze with seven Instagram-worthy spots
It’s hard not to miss the yellow neon-lit entrance. You’re then greeted with Renaissance art at the reception area (yes, another IG-worthy spot!). Walk through a life-sized painting and you’ve entered the Re:Charge relaxation den with a flower wall that’ll put Kim K to shame. Here, you’ll experience red light scalp therapy and an oxygen bar (we’ll get to this later).
The next room, a minimalist loft-like space complete with foliage, gold finishings and a giant bathtub in the centre is where all the work is done. Don’t get too comfy just yet, the Wash Cave next door has digital aquatic art (aka calming jellyfish) projected onto the walls. Add a Swedish scalp massage and the soothing ring of a Tibetan singing bowl and you’ll be transporting to ZZZ-town in no time.
The highlight, however, is the millennial pink cocoon next door. The Rose Quartz Private Room is reserved for VIPs (humble brag: we got in!) who’d rather indulge in some alone time. Finally, take a picture of your sweet new hairdo at the turquoise-coloured exit lane that looks like a page out of a comic book.
Ah-mazing perks that’ll make you stay all day
They weren’t kidding when they mentioned an “immersive, retreat-like experience”. I suggest you come at least 15 minutes ahead to enjoy the mini-lounge access. Right from the get-go, I was treated with a red light laser scalp therapy to rejuvenate the scalp and promote hair growth along with a cup of herbal tea and light refreshments. The fresh dose of oxygen at the oxygen bar is so extra but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Oh, and did I mention doing all this while sitting on a massage chair?
I was then ushered to the Rose Quartz Private Room. The treatment began with a calming welcome massage with essential oils of your choice (I went with peppermint) that was used throughout the session. After a quick chat with my stylist Shawn Chia, the Associate Director of Chez Vous, we decided on a soft brown balayage colour treatment. The whole process was quick and I was pampered with treats like a welcome drink packed with antioxidants, heated shoulder pads and of course, lovely staff.

From the use of bond strengthening hair shots that reduce hair damage to adding Himalayan pink rock salt lamps at every corner to purify the air, it’s the little things that count at Chez Vous: Hideaway. You’d think that all these perks come at a hefty price but you’re wrong. Prices start from $213 for a haircut and any treatment of your choice regardless of hair length. Plus, each stylist takes only five appointments a day so their full attention is on you. The two and a half hours flew by and I left feeling rejuvenated with healthy tresses. Will I come back again? Hell yes!
