Highlights from Negroni Week 2023: Sip on Negroni iterations by your fave bars

Negroni Week, founded in 2013, blends the love for classic cocktails with charity. What started small has grown into a global movement, raising over US$4 million for charitable causes.
For 2023, the event partners with Imbibe Magazine and Slow Food International, which is known for preserving traditional gastronomy and sustainable food practices. This year, bars worldwide will pay a $25 registration fee, contributing to the Negroni Week Fund by Slow Food International in support of local projects. Bars can also donate a share of Negroni sales to their chosen local charities.
The 11th edition’s theme, “The Power of Timeless Bonds,” pays homage to the connection between bartenders, customers, and the art of crafting the perfect cocktail. Powerhouses like Jigger & Pony and Anti:dote are back, along with new and exciting venues like Night Hawk, Jungle Ballroom, Puffy Bois, and Offtrack joining the party. It’s a Negroni lover’s paradise!
We all know what goes into a Negroni: equal parts gin, vermouth and Campari. But this year, bartenders at 14 local bars are challenged to take it up a notch by infusing their personal philosophies and signature flair. Think of it as a symphony of flavours, blending the classic trio in ways that will dazzle your taste buds.

Savour the Asian-inspired Breakfast 2.0 ($24) at Mondrian’s Jungle Ballroom, crafted by head bartender Adrian Besa. This unique concoction features Indian gin, Indonesian coffee liqueur, and a mix of Campari, Cinzano Rosso Vermouth, and chocolate orange bitters. The bitterness is balanced by sweet caramel toffee and vanilla undertones, creating a dessert-like variant.
Or try Night Hawk’s Binary Byzantine ($25), concocted by head bartender Chuan. This mezcal drink combines Campari, Chinato Vermouth, Montelobos Espadin Mezcal, Classico Bitters Liqueur, and dark chocolate liqueur for a smoky, bittersweet delight.

Continue the fiesta with Offtrack’s Folk Negroni ($24), crafted by head bartender Joash Conceicao. It offers a mildly dry twist on the classic Negroni with tart berry notes. Pink guava Negroni, anyone? Try it at Sago House. Nuthin’ Nut a “G” Thang ($24) is a mix of Campari guava vermouth and gin, inspired by head bartender Naz’s trip to Peru.
Over at Wallich Manor, head bartender Aslam from keeps things bright and citrusy with Wallich The 9th ($24). It’s a combo of Campari, chrysanthemum-infused Pisco, French wine aperitif, citrus, honey, ginger, lavender bitters and orange foam.
