Gear up for some MAAD times ahead! The popular weekend art and design market will be on every weekend in December.
With the relocation of the Red Dot Design Museum to the Marina Bay Waterfront, the Market of Artists and Designers (MAAD) still remains as an anchor, sustaining efforts to invigorate Singapore’s creative and design scene. And you can check it out every weekend in the festive month of December (up till April, in fact). You know how we feel about the design market and flea scene here in Singapore. Squeal.
Not the usual flea marketplace, MAAD is home to original works where the community collectively promotes originality, innovations, creativity and artistry. For 12 years, the event was based in the iconic red building on Maxwell Road where many art markets and underground gigs from local bands under the MAAD umbrella were held.
If you’ve missed it when it went on hiatus (or last week), as a Christmas month treat, the MAAD market will be happening every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8 December 2017 to 1 April 2018 at the new Red Dot Design Museum along the scenic Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade.
