What is your backstory and why did you decide to launch your business?
I was a global clinical project manager for multinational corporations. I’m passionate about creating jewellery of the highest quality. I draw on my meticulous attention to detail when creating my designs which are made in the same ateliers as luxury brands. My professional experience ensures the jewellery has undergone rigorous and meticulous testing. My purpose is to empower women to be their best selves by creating heirloom treasures for confident women who value style and strength.
Focused on creating “forever quality” pieces, each design is created to help women achieve a confident look – using timeless pieces to feel glamorous every day. The brand reflects the strength and courage of a new generation of women who don’t buy into throw-away culture. Lara & Ela jewellery is made from the finest materials, such as 18-karat gold plating, freshwater pearls and surgical-grade titanium. Moreover, each piece is hand-assembled by expert artisans.
What has been your biggest challenge so far and how did you overcome it?
Finding the balance between creating jewellery to cater to maximalist and minimalist tastes. We overcame this by creating the Mini Maxi edit, which is maximalist in terms of design identity but it is smaller than our usual pieces. Our brand identity is still maximalist and proud.
How do you stay motivated and energised?
Just get on with it! That’s my motto.
How do you keep stress levels low?
I don’t think about the past or the future, only focusing on the present.

Home or a cafe.
Can you share a work mantra that you use?
Stay conscious.
One thing you can keep talking about for hours?
Films.
