This April, Eazy Gourmet and HSBC go Off The Shell! The year-long foodie fiesta continues with great dining deals on crabs, lobsters, mussels, oysters and more
Don’t you just love food themes? It’s like a party… but for your appetite! Eazy Gourmet kicked off the foodie festivities back in February with a cash-saving collab with HSBC Cards – a Latin American Loco Latino theme then, and a burger-brimmin’ Celebrate The Bun theme a month later in March. Keeping the momentum going in April, the year-long dining fiesta has unveiled a theme dubbed Off The Shell, and as you’ve probably already guessed, it’s fresh seafood galore. Think crabs, shrimps and oysters you can slurp to your heart’s content; bounties of the sea served elegantly on your plate. Now that’s fishy business we can stomach!
How does it all work? You simply have to wade down to one of Eazy Gourmet’s participating restaurants, and when you flash your HSBC card, you get up to 18% off swiped off your bill! But don’t worry; we’re not ones to make you go hunting helplessly for these dining perks. Here are five spots in Singapore that are taking part in Off The Shell.
1) The Boiler
Always trust a seasoned backyard cook to know how to take care of ravenous, food-longing masses. Finding joy in satisfying the appetites of friends and family, The Boiler’s owner eventually opened this Cajun-style seafood boil resto in 2008, spreading the love with pepper-buttered platters of Dungeness crabs, Boston lobsters, crawfish and clams.
The Boiler, 18 Howard Road, #01-06 Novelty Bizcentre, Singapore 369585, p. 6635 1285.
2) Full Of Crab
At Full Of Crab, it promises to turn its patrons into friends with the communal activity of shelling Cajun-spiced crustaceans without care for glam-ness or clean fingers. Get messy with king crab legs, snow crabs, slipper lobsters and crawfish – immersed in flavour-rich sauces like garlic butter, cajun and the Fully Loaded house special.
Full Of Crab, 195 East Coast Road, Singapore 428900, p. 6348 8195.
3) The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill
The Pelican is where cocktail lovers rendezvous with seafood masters. Big bonus: the chefs at The Pelican aim to source responsibly for the best and freshest catch – good job, guys! Menu highlights include The Pelican Platter, a seafood showcase featuring raw oysters, clams, crab, prawns, a steamed whole Maine lobster, and marinated conch salad; Line-caught Swordfish Steak with fresh herb vinaigrette; and Skate Wing Chop with burnt lemon butter.
The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill, #01-01 One Fullerton, 1 Fullerton Road, Singapore 049213, p. 6438 0400.
4) Brizo Restaurant & Bar
Harbouring a moniker that salutes the Greek Goddess of the sea, Brizo is undoubtedly a welcome habitat for seafood lovers. Its Viva Seafood Fiesta Dinner Buffet is a hit amongst those staying at the Clarke Quay’s Park Hotel – Lobster in a Pan with tiger prawns, mussels and pasta; creamy butter rock crab; gambas al ajillo (Spanish-style garlic shrimp) and arròs negre (Valencia squid ink rice with seafood).
Brizo Restaurant & Bar, Park Hotel Clarke Quay, 1 Unity Street, Singapore 237983, p. 6593 8855.
5) The Famous Kitchen
A seafood feast haven amongst Northerners in Sembawang, this Chinese restaurant always attracts large families and hungry groups looking for chilli grab, crab bee hoon, bamboo clams and drunken prawns. If you haven’t tried Chinese-styled seafood before, you’d best add this to your list! Expect it to get noisy.
The Famous Kitchen, 54 Sembawang Road, Singapore 779085, p. 6257 1843.
As if all this couldn’t get any better, both The Boiler and The Pelican will be holding special Off The Shell events where HSBC cardholders can get 20% off. Indulge in The Crustacean Feast at The Boiler every weekend from April to May – including one live Boston lobster, prawns, mussels, clams, sausages, sweet corn and buns. While The Pelican’s dishing out a four-course set menu (with one glass of wine) on 27 April, worth an affordable $64 if you’re holding on to a piece of plastic a la HSBC.
