Like it or not, Germany is back in the limelight again after its World Cup glory – thanks to Oktoberfest 2014. Not that we’re complaining: this is when we all get to put on our beer goggles, eat sausages, and even break out the lederhosen or the dirndl dress. Here’s where to go to do all of that, and more:
The Glass House Restaurant and Bar at Hotel Fort Canning
If you’d like a more refined affair, check in at The Glass House Restaurant for chef Randy Torres’ a special three-course set menu of German-inspired dishes ($45 onwards, inclusive of HB Original Lager or HB Dunkel).
Through 5 October. Hotel Fort Canning, 11 Canning Walk Singapore 178881 p. 6559 6770.

Oktoberfest doesn’t have to end in October – not at District 10 anyway. Its carnivorous offerings, which includes three heart-stopping meat platters perfect for sharing, are available now till 30 November 2014.
All three platters only available at #01-15/16/17 UE Square, 81 Clemenceau Avenue, Singapore 239917 p. 6738 4788. The Fritto Misto platter is available at #01-42/K3, The Star Vista, 1 Vista Exchange Green, Singapore 138617 p. 6694 2884.
Get ahead of the game with two nights of Oktoberfest German buffet parties ($65nett), live music and games at the Dempsey microbrewery. Beer fiends rejoice – all beers are at happy hour prices all night, and there are limited edition brews to be had. Don a traditional German garb, and get a pint on the house!
