Big winners of The Bar Awards 2016 include 28 Hong Kong Street, Anti:dote, Operation Dagger and more
Last year, we rallied you booze-binging troops to vote for the best in the local bar scene. The Bar Awards, inaugurated in 2014 and previously an industry-only affair, opened nominations to the public for the first time from 7 to 31 December 2015, letting everyone show some love to their favourite bars and bartenders.
There are 10 awards in the 2016 edition: Young Bartender of the Year, Best Culinary Experience in a Bar, Best Service Crew, Best Beer Bar, Best Restaurant Bar, Best Spirits and Liquor Selection, Most Creative Cocktail Programme, Best New Cocktail Bar, Bartender of the Year, and Best Cocktail Bar.
All winners were first picked by a panel of bar professionals, bar owners, drink connoisseurs, and journalists will narrow down the nominees for The Cut, a selected list for each categories, which was made available for public viewing on 20 January 2016. From The Cut, the panel ranked their top five for each category through a point system – and, of course, the bartenders and establishments with the highest points took the cake.
Held at Overeasy Orchard on 13 March, The Bar Awards gathered ’round the who’s who of the bar industry to announce the winners, with some fan favourites taking home more than one prize! Presenting: the winners of The Bar Awards 2016:
