Head over to Scotts Square and prepare to be starry-eyed with the display of bright, bold graphics by Japanese artist Takora Kimiyoshi Futori, shop dresses and accessories, and join a corsage-making workshop at K+ TAKO LABO
Known for bringing folks a dose of unique creativity by eccentric artists and standout brands, K+ is proud to bring another buzzing exhibition to town: K+ TAKO LABO! From the land of the rising sun, Japanese travelling pop pattern-based graphics exhibition and vibrant lifestyle store, TAKO LABO, is landing on our shores to ignite your imagination!
The exhibition is curated by Kinetic Singapore, with eye-catching artworks by Japanese graphic artist, Takora Kimiyoshi Futori, being displayed for your viewing pleasure at Scotts Square from 28 July to 10 September. The graphics-inspired artist will be presenting seven patterns, including “Hey Graphics! Do a little dance to be seen”, which is a kaleidoscope of bold colours and shapes, via textiles that are manually silkscreened by hand. This will also mark Takora’s first solo exhibition in Southeast Asia.
For the fashionistas, check out the capsule collection of bright and playful TAKO LABO dresses designed by Akiko Hamada (NINP). Alongside these, there’ll be a range of fabric items and accessories if you’re looking for a splash of ‘pop’ to go with your everyday looks.
If you’re looking to get handsy, Takora will be hosting a crafting workshop on 29 July from 1pm to 2pm. Learn to make a snazzy fabric corsage with offcuts from hand-dyed TAKO LABO fabric, exclusively brought in from Japan.
