One of the thousands of islands that make up Indonesia, Batam has long been a favourite spot for Singaporeans, and Radisson Golf & Convention Center Batam shows us why.
You’ve ventured to Hua Hin, explored Bali’s best beaches and tried all these luxury camping holidays. If you’re on the hunt for a new destination to entertain the whole family (for a really reasonable price) then Radisson Golf & Convention Center Batam should be on your hit list, and not just for the private island adventures, sweetie, darling, darling, sweetie!
Where is Batam?
Located just 45-minutes by ferry from Singapore, Batam is one of the 17,508 islands that make up the archipelago of Indonesia. Batam city is actually the main city of the three Riau Islands that are made up of Batam, Rempang, and Galang, known collectively as Barelang.
It’s a hugely popular destination for Singaporeans who flock to the city on the weekends and holidays for affordable and fresh seafood, shopping and staycations, and while it may not have the uber-cool restaurants, and beach clubs that Bali has to offer, there are some hidden gems here just waiting to be discovered.
Why stay at Radisson Golf & Convention Center Batam?
If you’re looking for affordable accommodation in Batam, then this is where you need to be. With two swimming pools (one outdoor, one semi-indoor) to entertain old and young, a lush spa that offers a myriad of treatments and staff who look after you with that wonderfully warm Indonesian hospitality, Radisson Golf & Convention Center Batam is the perfect spot to start unwinding and live your best vacay life.
The buffet breakfast at Bite Restaurant will keep everybody happy–we couldn’t resist the morning chocolate fountain!–and at night, it offers a delightful mix of Indonesian, Indian and Western classics. Don’t miss out on trying the Gado Gado and sampling a range of Indonesian desserts.
Guestrooms are kept simple, with many offering views of the golf course and pool below. Executive suites feature bath tubs, and adjoining rooms can be arranged so the whole family can be together yet alone at the same time (if you know what I mean).
Family activities
The hotel is built with families in mind, offering a jungle themed Kids Club that runs daily with activities such as face painting, foosball, and archery. They’re also about to open an ATV track and a paintball area to add to the thrills.
And while the kids are being entertained, parents can chill by the pool, experience one of the nearby shopping malls, hit the neighbouring golf course or book in at Zoysia Spa for a revitalising treatment.
If you want to venture outside the facilities, we suggest you have the staff arrange a day trip to beautiful Ranoh Island. Enjoy the scenic 50-minute drive from the hotel to the ferry port and take a short ride to an island paradise that feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Coconut trees line the white sand beaches on one side of the island, while another part is taken up with an inflatable water park and water sports like banana boats that will keep the whole family entertained.
Golf fans
If you’re mad for golf, then this property is paradise, as it backs on to the Padang Golf Sukajadi Golf Course. Designed by Thomson, Wolveridge and Perrett, this 18-hole course will keep you entertained with 6430-metres of green, as well as a driving range and club house.
Did we mention they’re building a mini-golf course too?
