Consider your lazy Bali afternoons sorted at The Joglo - Canggu’s chillest tropical destination
Only in Bali does a cafe, playground, whole foods market and pilates studio open under one roof and, within just weeks of opening, become a massive hit – the kind of place where both families and fitness lovers can hang out, graze, shop, play and stretch in perfect paradisal harmony…
Introducing: The Joglo – Canggu’s multifunctional, tropical destination that’s drawing in all sorts of different crowds from almost every corner of the island.
You may have already spotted Bali’s brunching folk steadily streaming in each morning for their daily fix of smoothies and breakfast bowls. Or the gaggle of yummy mummies and their little ones meeting fellow fams for play dates at the fully supervised cubby house. Or maybe it’s the evening string of yogis you’ve seen religiously attending a sunset Pilates sesh, accompanied by a 100% cold-pressed juice from downstairs at In The Raw.

Whatever it was that caught your attention the first time, do yourself a favour and step those sandy toes of yours through The Joglo’s antique teak-wood doors, and settle in for some Mediterranean-inspired nibbles at the al fresco cafe, a family-friendly film at the outdoor cinema, or perch on a picnic blanket beneath the palms and treat the kiddies [and you!] to a creamy cone of Made Manis Gelato ice cream – yum!
You see, The Joglo is a place for everyone – a place that’s away from the beach, the party crowds and the bustling Bali streets, and a place where you can simply kick back and just do you, whether that involves chillaxing with your gal pals and an espresso martini [or two], getting creative with the kiddos at the arts and crafts workshops, browsing The Joglo’s impressive collection of antiques, or greedily grazing through a long and lazy ladies’ lunch…. we are in Bali, after all.
And as diverse as the crowds that The Joglo draws in, the grazing options here are some of the best in Berawa. Alongside the whole foods market that’s centred around making nutritious, healthy choices for you and your family as easy as possible, there’s the fresh and colourful Nasi Campur selection from the iconic Made’s Warung, artisanal pizzas from Luca’s Pizza [try the meaty Boscaiola with rich roasted mushies], nutritional smoothies and bowls from In The Raw, and Mediterranean staples from The Joglo’s own chefs, with signatures like Eggs Benny for brekkie, or the tender Mahi-Mahi steak for dinner. And did we mention there’s also two weekend brunches, too? A Saturday hangover brunch for the morning after the night before, and a stunning Sunday brunch dished up from Made’s Warung, no less.
Yup, The Joglo really is your tropical home-from-home, and you’re invited to use the breezy spaces, the garden, the playground, the market and the cafe as if it were all your own. And if that wasn’t enough, you can now even host your celebrations here, too, from ladies luncheons and kids birthday parties [you can choose from a selection of special packages], to intimate weddings and romantic soirees – swit swoo!
