A coffee bar, art space and all-round creative hub, House of Yoreh isn't your typical Canggu cafe...
Navigating Bali’s cafe scene ain’t easy, especially before your morning coffee. But if you’re in Canggu, you’re in luck, because this bustling Bali neighbourhood is home to House of Yoreh – an art cafe, coffee bar and creative studio where the baristas are as serious about coffee as they are about cultivating a community.
You see, House of Yoreh isn’t just a place to grab a superb coffee – it’s a creative space where every corner has a story to tell. As the vision of photographers Matt Jacob and Fin Matson, House of Yoreh is a place to immerse in art, browse raw handcrafted Yoreh Jewelry, or even to hire the creative studio for a photography or podcasting session.
And with its raw, laid-back charm that feels effortlessly cool, House of Yoreh is the kind of spot where you could lose a few hours reading, working, or just watching the world go by. It’s a community hub where coffee meets craft, and where you can come to caffeinate before you co-create.
At House of Yoreh, the coffee speaks for itself
First things first – coffee. House of Yoreh serves some of the best coffee in Canggu, with every cup crafted from speciality-grade beans, sourced in Java, and roasted to perfection. This “farm to cup” journey isn’t just a catchy phrase; it’s a commitment to quality that you can taste. The beans are meticulously selected to honour Indonesia’s intricate flavours, and at each stage of the process, from planting to brewing, the focus is on craftsmanship and precision.
But that’s not all. House of Yoreh’s coffee is SCA-accredited, which if you’re a bean buff, you’ll know that this means their organic coffee is the highest quality available, professionally graded by the Specialty Coffee Association. And as for the baristas? They’re just as serious about their craft…
Every morning the baristas spend about an hour fine-tuning the espresso machine and grinders, ensuring each cup is rich, complex, and full of flavour. We can never go past one of the house flat whites, but the signature ‘Angel Mane’ is a standout. A combination of science and artistry, the result is a sweet, intense shot with notes of caramel, dark chocolate, and orange. It was created by co-founder Matt after years of travelling the world and tasting coffee, reflecting his passion for espresso as the ultimate form of coffee expression.
Raw and handcrafted, Yoreh Jewelry is wearable art
Just as meticulous and as carefully crafted as the coffee, Yoreh Jewelry is House of Yoreh’s own jewellery collection that blends traditional techniques with a contemporary edge. A treasure trove of artful, handmade pieces, we love that you can browse and shop a Yoreh keepsake from Bali, all while sipping on local Indonesian beans.
Each piece of Yoreh Jewelry is a true work of art, designed to make a statement and tell a story. From the bold, eye-catching pendants, to the raw and timeless rings, you’ll find jewellery pieces with minute details, handcrafted by talented local artisans. And the best bit is, since Yoreh Jewelry is committed to “creating art, not content”, there’s no mass production here.
Come for the coffee, stay for the studio
Not only a place to soak in all different forms of art, House of Yoreh takes things a step further with its creative studio – a space to make art too. The studio here is a versatile space for photographers, podcasters, and artists alike, with everything you need to bring your vision to life. Think state-of-the-art camera equipment, full service podcast production (from recording to management), and cinematic lighting with a grungy backdrop.
Plus, with easy access to the café, you’re never far from a fresh brew to keep those creative juices flowing. It’s the perfect place to work, create, and collaborate in Canggu.
