We’re totally spoilt for music festivals this year, aren’t we? Thanks to Clarke Quay’s Summer Music Festival, we can catch live music almost every weekend July through September. Banging’ tunes, good vibes, endless tipples and awesome, affordable grub — what could be better?
From 22 July to 17 September 2015, sway to foot-tapping beats by local and regional musicians at Clarke Quay Fountain Square. Kicking off the event is Music Travels (22 July 2015); a line-up of top 40s hits, evergreens, and funky dance tracks by The Highlander, Little Saigon, and Octapas resident bands; E.N.T., One Love, and Cosmic Jam. Don’t forget to show some love to talented homegrown musicians as they belt out original compositions at Beer Market Originals (19 August 2015). Then, get serenaded by Shuffle Bistro Bar’s acoustic bands – AlphaBeat, Paraphrase, and Sunday Morning – on 20 and 21 August 2015. Take it up a notch and rock out at Rock The Music (16 September 2015); Fern & Kiwi as well as Beer Market’s resident bands promise to tear up the stage with amazing rock-and-roll tunes. Cap the festival with a smashing performance by The Pumproom’s (23 July and 17 September 2015) resident bands and veteran nightlife entertainers, NationOne and Jay & Frenz.
No festival is complete without food and drinks. Fuel up for all that head banging and hip shaking with the irresistible array of bites offered throughout this musical extravaganza. Grab a Saigon Chicken Sandwich ($7) by Little Saigon, or share a basket of thick-cut fries ($8) with your mates. For something more substantial, order Octapas sinfully delicious Spanish Baked Rice ($10) – we could order two — and wash it down with a bottle of refreshing Somersby cider or, better yet, Octapas’ signature sangria.
Summer Music Festival will be held from 22 July to 17 September 2015 at Clarke Quay Fountain Square and is open to public. For more information on show times and venues visit Summer Music Festival.
